I just rememberd something else ...when Jack and Juliette tried to call the boat and they couldnt get through then Charlotte had to do it and they asked to see if sayid etc had arrived and they said noone has......so then where are they ?
One of the benefits of being Canadian is that I get to see a different preview for upcoming episodes than those shown on American networks.

What I saw happening for next week was the helicopter being flown in an odd direction. Sayid asked the pilot where he was going. The clips are cut and edited, so we didn't to hear the answer. We sorta see the helicopter losing balance in the air and Sayid lunges towards the pilot and retrieves a gun while in the helicopter.

So.... yeah. :o

If Locke IS in the coffin then hes not a survivor from the oceanic 6 is he cause hes dead the oceanic are the survivors from the flight he may die on the island and IF the get rescued they might atke him back and have a funeral there....this is just my thougt on the whole thing and WOW to Aaron but didnt Claire want to give the baby away or is it because now shes attached to the baby by being stuck on the island. but great episode cant wait til next week :D
When Jack goes to the funeral he already has grown the beard and become a drunk, which means it is way later than the trial. So whoever is in the coffin IS one of the Oceanic 6 survivors and then dies a year or more later. (unless it is ben in the coffin)

i am really thinking that Locke is in the coffin..or Sayid..

Let's try to reverse engineer it.

Why's Boston called "Beantown"?
In Colonial days, Boston was part of the triangular trade, in which "slaves in the Caribbean grew sugar cane to be shipped to Boston to be made into rum to be sent to West Africa to buy more slaves to send to the West Indies." Confusing, isn't it? Because of this trade, the area was chock-full of molasses, and beans baked in the gooey syrup became very popular in Boston, thereby earning the city the nickname "Beantown."

there is some kind of time difference on the island and in the real world. Remember when Faraday recieved that timeclock and it was 31 mins different? maybe it takes a couple days of island time for them to get back to the freighter???

I still don't think the man in the coffin is one of the Oceanic 6 though. They've taken pains to remind us of the celebrity the Oceanic 6 have now, with Hurley invoking them while he's being arrested, Jack talking about signing autographs when he steps out for coffee, and Kate having one of the most recognizable faces that anyone who watches television or the internet would immediately know.

So if coffin-man were one of the Oceanic 6, his death story would have gotten a lot more press than the little article Jack was reading. Even if he was using a different name at the time, surely someone would have recognized his face.

Jack takes the witness stand. Clean cut. The judge instructs the jury "did not meet the witness until after the crime." Jack testifies "On Sept 22 2004 we were passengers on 815 when it crashed near an island in the south pacific." Tells the jury "the marshall died in crash, never spoke to him". He told them "only 8 survied the crash landed in the water. if it were for kate wouldn't make it to the shore. gave us first aide water food shelter. tried to save the other two but.... " kate says this is my trial and don't want him to say anything else. The DA Ms Dunbrooke has only 1 question "do you love the defendent." to which Jack replies "no not anymore. "

Then in the garage he tells Kate he didn't mean it. So was obvious lying about the whole crash story as confirmed when he talked to Kate when she went to get the taxi. So why are they lying? Why do they have this cover story about the crash? What happened to the two who didn't make it out of the 8?

When the lawyer, Duncan, is trying to convince Kate to take a plea he tells her he wants "him" in the courtroom, to generate sympathy. Kate says "you will not use my son". At first I thought maybe someone was wrong with her son, but is the sympathy it would generate come from his mother dying? And in the scene with kate and jack at the taxi, why doesn't jack want to see Aaron?

Episode Name

Egg-town is a pejorative term that refers to the days of bartering, during the Great Depression. A traveling salesman would have to barter his candy or tobacco or shoelaces for different commodities. A poor exchange would be for eggs, a relatively common item that is also highly perishable. Nobody wants to trade for eggs from a traveling salesman because they have their own, so the salesman who accepted an egg in exchange was forced to accept a bad deal. Salesmen would use the term like "If I were you I would stay away from Bogart. That's an egg-town." Of course, the lack of trust among salesman was also high, and it was likely that one salesman would lie to another about the quality of a town's customers to keep them for himself. Invariably, the second salesman ventures into Bogart only to find it is truly an egg-town. He is either persuaded to not visit a town that has good customers or is tricked into visiting a town that can only offer eggs. The term "egg-town" represents a deal with undesirable outcomes in either case. [source needed]

Found this on Lost-pedia.

Kind of makes sense, Miles wants to deal with Ben, Kate wants info from Miles, has to make a deal, I guess.

Mr. Snoochface: Hey babycakes! Let's make a deal.

Snoochface: Okay

Mr. Snoochface: How about if next week, YOU walk the dog every night, and I'll prepare dinner and clean up afterwards.

Snoochface: Hmmm... it's forecasted to rain cats and dogs all of next week. That sounds like an EGGTOWN deal to me, yo! You ain't gonna trick me with that one, Jive Turkey!

Mr. Snoochface: RATS!

I still think Jin and Sun the final two O6 members

The manifest still seems to be important in the O6 definition

Ben being a former member of the Dharma team that defected would explain Miles knowing the possiblilty of him getting the money and possibly a reason for the specific amount. Also how he has a spy on the ship, and knew how to come and go.

The book Locke gave Ben:

From Lost.com - Valice by Phillip Dick is about Divine intervention, extraterrestrial communication and conspiracy theories all serve to lay the foundation for the insane world that is Valis. Journey inside the schizophrenic mind of PKD and Horselover Fat as they attempt to find answers to the questions of human existence, the benevolence of god and the future of the universe. In the end Dick asks the ultimate question, "Truth or fiction?".

Book Sawyer was reading is called The Invention of Morel - about a Sci-Fi book about an island with the main character Morel creating a machine to reproduce reality.

When Sawyer was reading his book Hurley asks him if they want to watch xanadu or satans doom. I couldn't find any movies for Satan's doom but found a song (the lyrics which I won't post) From whitebrowgigs.livejournal.com -
Xanadu was a film from 1980 that is about a group of women, Muses, who travel to earth from the lands of Zeus. However, Xanadu was actually a city used by Chinese Emperor Kublai Kahn several hundred years ago during the summer. And my fellow literature buffs should know that Coleridge wrote a poem about Kublai Kahn where he describes Xanadu as a "pleasure dome" that has rivers, gardens, blossoming trees, hills, etc. Sound like a certain island?

Xanadu Lyrics:
A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it Xanadu

And now, open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in Xanadu

A million lights are dancing
And there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world and you're here with me
Eternally

Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu
Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu

Xanadu your neon lights will shine
For you Xanadu

The love, the echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know, they are in Xanadu

The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu

A million lights are dancing and there you are
A shooting star, an everlasting world and you're
Here with me eternally

Xanadu - Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu

Now that I'm here, now that you're near in Xanadu

Song playing in Kate and Claires barricks:

She's Got You by Patsy Cline

I've got your picture that you gave to me
And it's signed "with love," just like it used to be
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got your picture, she's got you

I've got the records that we used to share
And they still sound the same as when you were here
The only thing different, the only thing new,
I've got the records, she's got you

I've got your memory, or has it got me?
I really don't know, but I know it won't let me be

I've got your class ring; that proved you cared
And it still looks the same as when you gave it dear
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got these little things, she's got you

Sawyer and Locke play batgammon - in the first season, Locke and Walt played several games of backgammon and Locke talked about the opposing sides. Walt and Hurley would also play backgammon as well.....and Hurley owes Walt $20,000 for games that he lost to Walt.

And one last interesting thought. Jack would be Aarons uncle - remember Claire and Jack are siblings. Does Jack know that's his nephew? Why doesn't he want to see him?

I think Jack might make a decision to sacrifice Claire in some way. In a trade or something with the Others or boaties. She was pregnant on the island and was given those injections -- we don't know why yet, really. She might be more important to them than we realize. If Jack decided to trade Claire to them in order to get rescued, or as part of the "secret", that could explain his lack of interest in seeing Aaron, assuming he knows the baby is Aaron. I tend to think he does.

Did anyone else think Kate was lying to Sawyer about not being pregnant?
