Yeah, I think it's possible to find something nice in pretty much every style of music. With some very few exceptions. :D

(looks over to his CDs... Enya, Manowar, Roxette, Destiny's Childe, Jean-Michel Jarre... quite a mess, eh?)

Ohh, Jean-Michael Jarre! I thought I was the only one who listened to him. ^_^

I can go on withdrawal for loooong times, but sooner or later I find myself listening again...

...but that would be another thread. No hijacking here :D

Strangely, I'm not super impressed with Amarantine. It's nice, but it lacks the "ethereal" sound of the earlier work.... that other-worldly sound is what I like in Enya.

I've been meaning to put together a good playlist of "other-worldly" sounding Enya songs for my iPod..... I have all her Cd's on there, I just need the playlist.

Anyone want to help?... Slow, soothing songs and preferably songs that are NOT in English... it helps me sleep if I can't understand what she's saying. If I understand the words, I think about them and my mind won't shut off.

Unless you happen to be very skilled in Latin, I recommend one of my personal favorites: Afer Ventus. A hymn to the beauty of the cosmos, blows me away everytime ^_^

Pax Deorum is one song I find otherworldly. It is from Sheepherd Moons.

Not quite. It's from "The memory of trees". ;)

And it's quite interesting if you ask me. Most of the song sounds pretty... dark. Sinister. Yet the title means, translated, "peace of the Gods". Somewhat weird, no? :D

Whops. Got my albums mixed. I agree, the song sounds very dark. I was surprised by the title.

Welcome to the Enya thread. I like some songs from The Celts, but A Day Without Rain is my favorite album.

Hands down my favorite song is Bodicea. Have you heard the Album Maiden of Mysteries:Music of Enya by Taliesin Orchestra?
