Heya all,

let me join the club with some mild irony... ;)

...seems like Enya isn't satisfied with the beauty of the Gaelic language anymore. I got that new CD "Amarantine" some days ago, had a look at the track list... "What? No Gaelic?! What happened?!"

Then I noticed the asterisks next to several track names... "Lyrics in Loxian language taken from the book [...]"

So, she's dropped Gaelic (temporarily?) for this artificial language invented by Roma Ryan.

But then, I don't care - the songs sound a bit different but they are just as stunningly beautiful as the former Gaelic ones. Aaaah, "The river sings"... the best track on that album if you ask me. I was almost clean for years, now I'm fully addicted again... :p
Thanks for the info.

I look forward to getting her latest album too.

Does anyone else here find it weird that Enya doesn't seem to have aged at all in the last 25 years? I don't know exactly how old she is, but she's been making music since the early 80s and yet she still looks really young.
Yes, she always looks young. I wonder what brand of makeup she uses.

Real music never dies.

As a full blown metalhead, I cannot bear Enya in any sense, BUT there are some realy good trance mixes out there of Enya's work.
My favorite mixes:
Pink Floyd + Enya - Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby (Natural Trance Mix)
Enya - Enigma & PM Dawn - Set Adrift On Memory Bliss Extended Trance Mix
Techno - Enya - Orinoco Flow (Rave Remix)

Ah, I love trance too. Especially hardtrance. I'll search for those songs. =)

Nah, remember she's from Eriu (Ireland) - clearly this is a case of Sidhe blood somewhere in her family tree, resulting among other things in immortality :p

(For those who don't know, the Sidhe - pronounced "Shee" - are super-magical capricious beings of Celtic lore, kind of similar to today's fantasy elves)

I have used Enya to relax, unwind, de-stress or yes, sleep, many, many, many times since I first heard a full CD by her around 1991. I originally heard "Oronoco Flow" on the radio when it was a huge hit, but I had no idea she was such a genius.

I have all of her albums... As for the metal-head above, I have no problem having Metallica and Megadeth on my 60gb iPod along with Enya (and my hugely diverse CD collection). That's the point -- have the music for the mood. I kinda feel sad for people who only listen to one type of music all the time.

Today I've listened to the Smashing Pumpkins (Adore), the Dixie Chicks (Home), and Velvet Revolver (Contraband). Yes, it is possible to enjoy it all... If I had to listen to the same genre all the time, I'd start to hate music.
