Non-Messianics may not teach on these fora - you may only ask questions or post 'in fellowship'.

Read the SOP's at the head of this forum for full information as to what is allowed and what is not. Rule violations may lead to a ban by the Mods.

With the exception of one newbie within this thread all "newbies" have posted to this thread only. It seems they have no interest in the forum, as it appears they have overlooked the teaching/debating portion of the rules. The rest of the contributors to this thread are the MJ "regulars."
I personally can't see how and why the interest is so big on someone who apparently in not very forthcoming in his ministry. But what do I know????

Hi,

I think most of us are people who were partners with the tsiyon ministry. I for one am trying to seek help and fellowship in understanding and dealing with the difficult feelings that surround feeling deceived and being taught now by a teacher you thought was following YHWH shocking things like plural marriage and that Yah is married to humans.

I didn't know the rules and didn't mean to break them.

Sorry.

I. personally, welcome all those of you who are hurting and are now aware of the falsehood of this man. I think Avodat and I are more concerned with those who are using this venue to prop up the man and/or his teachings.

Please avail yourselves of the rest of our little corner of this very big forum. You might find some balm for your soul. Don't dwell, and don't feel condemnation over it.

Shalom all!
Thank you Yedidah for clarifying that new people are welcome, even when we don't quite "get" the forum thing. It must be unsettling to have so many "newbies" all at once, and I was wondering about how the regulars might view this.

I see that there have been something like 7,000 + views of this thread, if I am reading that correctly, which is higher than most other threads. So do the regulars feel maybe a little "invaded" by it all? I haven't had any idea how many people Tsiyon has reached but I have seen evidence there has been very good marketing exemplified so I wonder if this following is any indication?

This isn't the first time there has been a teacher of Scripture come under question, whether Messianic or not, but sadly I have seen it, in my opinion, too often in the last few years, and sadly among Messianics, too. I'd originally (naively I'm afraid) thought that most of these teachers seemed to demonstrate a solid and deep understanding of the Word. And although it does still seem true that there is depth of understanding in many places, it is also true that a good teacher is not always a good marketer while good marketers may not always be the most reputable teachers.

In fact, we have lived through a similar situation where I live; our first Torah teacher was quite gifted and for that I am grateful, but over a few years another agenda began to surface and it wasn't pretty. This teacher eventually went back to Judaism and denied Yeshua Messiah, taking others with them. It took years for people to work through all the fallout and grief and anger that happened. I know that this is not an isolated incident.

I remain very grateful that this CF venue has been here and available to help put the pieces of the puzzle together about the concern we've had with Tsiyon ministries. We didn't know that the reason we couldn't make them all fit is because there were pieces from more than one puzzle! We needed to know to look at another picture in order to see the whole megillah. (or enchilada, depending on your ethnic heritage or the neighborhood in which you grew up...:))

I, too have been concerned for those who may now be dealing with feelings of anger and betrayal, maybe akin to what many of us felt when we first stepped out of traditional Christianity toward our Hebraic Heritage? (Or for that matter, out from Orthodox Judaism to receive Yeshua, too.) Which ever background, we all have adjustments to make. I have understood that E/Steve was specifically attempting to reach that group of people who have had unanswered questions within their christian church backgrounds so it would follow that many do not have much experience with "Hebrew Roots" perspectives.

As one person wrote earlier, Cherry Blossom, I think? they are now thinking about re-evaluating all that they had previously taken in of what has been taught on Tsiyon and for some, while still dealing with the re-evaluation of traditional church teachings as well. Discernment is so crucial...and the proverbial sticky wicket I found anyway, was that when I needed it most was when I was least able to articulate what I was trying to understand.

Not having been in this or any other forum, I can't really speak for the regulars here, but I think most people here would be all over that! and very pleased to help people consider such things! Am I at all close to being correct in this?

I do not think or hope not anyway, that anyone wants to see this whole process of bringing darkness into light become a place to seek vengeance or participate in lashon hara; the evil tongue, or plainly, gossip.

May I think out loud here?
( I think this question would also have to go to the moderators if it were to involve CF in any way, yes?)

Just last week, I was thinking and asking about the possibility of there being some kind of opportunity or place where a Scriptural critique of what Tsiyon is currently teaching or has taught in the past for those who are trying to discern Truth but don't yet have the Scriptural study skills to help them do that. Apologetics of a sort. That would be a time consuming process but if it would help people who are confused and hurt get a better opportunity to be able to parse out the Scriptures, I think it might be worth the trouble. Question is: who would do it, and where? How would anyone know if what is taught there is sound? I would see that it would have to do with teaching the study skills as well as helping people apply them appropriately.

It absolutely could NOT become a contest of any kind but I suppose that risk would always be present. It would need to be focused on the teaching, and examining the Scriptures as good Bereans. I have seen how important a good foundational teaching in Torah is to solid growth and good discernment and remain grateful for the direction we were given by reputable people when we were new.

Is this the kind of thing that could also be addressed if people were to take the time to go through the threads here in this CF Messianic forum? I do see how time consuming this is as I have tried to get acquainted and there is a lot of "wading through" discussion threads to find the meat at times. Or maybe you get better at that as you go along?

Another option: There are some teachers that we have found to be pretty dependable that offer good foundational studies from a Hebrew worldview, and some are even free online.

Enough thinking out loud.
Does anyone have a good idea if it would be possible to or how to offer such support in this ongoing dilemma for some and aftermath for others?

watching and praying in Messiah

This is easier said than done, but not impossible. Dump what you've been taught and start fresh.
I had a ten-year span between being in Word of Faith to Messianic Judaism with nothing in between but that's what I did. I still find some of the old stuff rearing its ugly head and trying to creep up the back road. But just get rid of it.
Like I said before, don't let it condemn you and don't let it block your path to moving on - but move on, you should definitely do.
Make a decision, do you want mainstream Christianity, do you want Messianic Judaism, do you want Hebrew Roots which I guess is a bit of both (nothing inherently wrong in checking out the Roots) and then setting your face like a flint and move on.
This is indeed a very large forum. Just be advised that unless you are a member of any given congregational/faith area you may not teach/debate in those areas against what the main tenets are for that group. But each group, I'm sure will welcome any or all of you as guests there, fellowshiping, asking questions, trying to find their way.

I am answering an earlier question that was posted for me.

How do I know E's earlier teachings are the Truth?

I base it on this……When I had heard those teachings, and I looked at the Scriptures with those teachings, it rang truth in my heart (it made so much sense, it made more sense then what I was learning elsewhere) and it goes along with things that I already read and learned from Biblical history. It is kind of like, when I met Yeshua(Jesus) for the first time, as I was reading the Scriptures for the first time in my life (in the NT), I knew right there and then, who Yeshua was and is and I had an encounter with the Father telling me that "This is my Son, you can't deny him" I heard this from the Father, as I was reading the Scriptures, like John 3:16 and some other verses too, that was telling me to believe in Yeshua. I knew right there and then that Yeshua is Lord, God, Son of God, & the Messiah. I knew right there and then to put my faith in Him.
All of us who met & have accepted Yeshua, knows what I am talking about. Somethings just ring true to my heart as I was hearing E's teachings. Again as I stated before, now that this latest stuff has come out about E's past, I need to go back and re-examine what I had learned from E.

As for some of the teachings, (like "Holy Time" including Lunar Shabbat, for sure) I had researched very extensively on this subject, the Scriptures(including Strong's Hebrew Dictionary), historical documents & references, & the history of our greco calendar very carefully and prayerfully & I even prayed for a confirmation as well. The confirmation came at a later time, as an added bonus only after I have came to understand & have accepted "Holy Time" with peace. This is also something that E teaches which is what led me to do the research on it. Of course, a long the way of this research and acceptance of "Holy Time", I also have found out that there are many differences among other people who have recognized & try to keep "Holy Time" on when to keep "Holy Time". Meaning that, not everyone who is trying keep "Holy Time", is keeping the Biblical feasts and Sabbaths on the same day. There is a debate or disagreement on what day the Feasts and Sabbaths fall on. Whether or not E has this right or not, I don't know. But from what I have read and understood from my studies on this topic, it seems to line up with E's teaching of it.

I believe that YHWH can use anyone to get his message out and I do believe E was teaching the Truth up until Nov of 2011. But I will be re-examining what I have learned too.

I believe now that the reason why the truth has gone out of the latest messages or the reason for the inconsistencies in the latest messages is for these reasons……. b/c E is refusing to repent and deal open and honestly with his partners concerning his past and b/c he is so quick to dismiss partners who may disagree with him on somethings or challenge him on something, (he is working hard, so it seems/appears to cover up his past, as if he still has something to hide) and b/c he is doing things or living a certain way, that is not consistent with his teachings & that are causing red flags alerts (for those that got to witness it first hand in person). E is quick to dismiss or be hostile with some of these partners who step up and say something, especially after these partners who took the time & energy to work for his ministry. This was no small thing either, for the work that these partners took on.

Why and I am spending the time commenting on this thread?

1) I am concerned for the other partners of Tsiyon Ministry who are involved (especially heavily)and they need to know the Truth so they can make their decision as to whether or not they should stay involved with Tsiyon M.

2)Like another person had mentioned, in an earlier post, I am also hurt and I feel deceived as well. I have been dealing with mixed motions myself regarding E and I am looking for the support & fellowship of these like minded folks who are going through the same thing as me regarding Tsiyon Ministry. I did remove my financial support & involvement from E's ministry.

3) I had believed for a very long time (way before E even announced this in his latest programs in Nov 2011) that E was the one to lead the remnant through the 2nd Exodus. Now I am trying to work through all of this. This hasn't been easy. Based on E's latest behavior & programs and the fact that I am not the only one to have witnessed the red flags first hand in person, that it is appearing very much so, that E is not fitting the picture to be the one to lead the remnant through the 2nd Exodus(Isa 11). (U know the Moses or Elijah of this generation). Many of E's programs talks about the 2nd Exodus and give Scriptural reference for it.

I also can't dump what I have been taught and just start fresh, b/c I feel that YHWH has called me to help re-gather His Remnant together and share what I have learned regarding E's earlier teachings. I am very committed to this, but I just have to find another leader who YHWH has or will raise up to carry out this task. I am looking to YHWH & and seeking His direction on this, which is another reason why this has been so hard for me. So I believe E earlier teachings started paving the way regarding what I have learned in carrying out this mission & about who I am as an Israelite & part of the remnant. But now I can see that E has gone off the track and this is where I have to stop supporting E's ministry & I have to wait on YHWH to see where He wants me to go next regarding this important mission of re-gathering His remnant.

This has been very draining, emotional & a rocky road for me. I have also came to care for E's family very much. E(especially) & his wife (somewhat) also has been good to me too, in some ways, even though I saw the red flags at the same time.

Sam -
You mentioned getting info up on your website. Could you share your website?

Greetings Smarternow77;

I sent you a visitor message but am not sure if you have learned about that yet? It is still confusing to me.

At any rate, I did get the info posted as mentioned earlier, and you can find anyone's personal website, that they want others to know about, by clicking on their name and looking in the drop down menu that appears. Ours is there.

This is incorrect. Eliyahu recognizes that all who believe in and follow the Messiah are eternally saved whether or not they are in close relationship with the believing remnant of Israel.

Comments on other points in your note:

When you use the word "occult", you must mean "cult". There have been no reports of either the Jehovah Witnesses or Steve Butt being involved with the occult. His Broken Shackles ministry was to help people exiting from a controlling religious organization as he had previously done. As Steve Butt, he was obviously very open and public about his practicing of polygamy. Since changing his name to Eliyahu, he has neither publicly confirmed or denied this part of his personal history until recently. His focus has been on the Tsiyon ministry since it started, even if he may have responded to questions regarding polygamy on his "Be Free" website. He states that his other wives chose to end their marriage relationship with him. He is under no obligation to provide details about that, or to provide reasons for former supporters ending their support. As for the doctrine of the trinity, he emphatically recognizes the diety of Christ. He appears to also recognize the diety of the Holy Spirit; however I do not see where he has written in detail regarding the characteristics and work of the Holy Spirit.

In summary, based on my study of Eliyahu's teachings, and after perusing the references in your article, I find no support for your statement that "Eliyahu or Steve Butt and Dawn have been lying to their ministry partners."

Dave, I assume you are one of the devoted followers of Tsiyon Ministries and thus I understand your defense of Eliyahu. I must clarify your statement about there being "no support" for Eliyahu lying to the partners. I was a committed follower of Tsiyon Ministries (until December 2011) and one of the Leaders as well for a year. I can tell you from first hand knowledge that Steve Butt lied to me and my wife. As I have stated before, when Steve took on the "mantle" of Eliyahu, he DID have the obligation to reveal his past especially when it involved a teaching that may have been contrary to our beliefs and other partners as well. We gave up a great deal to be part of this ministry and we expected to know the truth about any hidden agendas that might arise while involved in this ministry. I found out about Steve Butt and his prior ministry from this Christian Forum site. I DID NOT find out about it from "Eliyahu" or Dawn and we were given quite a different story while we resided in Texas. This is why it was a lie. My wife and I were led to believe that he has ALWAYS been in a monogamist relationship (by their statements and information given) and that he married Dawn after divorcing Diane. There was NEVER a mention of Merry Ann and a fourth wife. We were NEVER told about his leading the Be Free Church Ministry regardless of whether it was about polygamy or not. Due the fact that I committed my life to assist him with the Tsiyon Ministry, I was entitled to know about any other ministry work he was involved in. The fact that he made it SO PUBLIC at one point in his life, does not explain why it had to be hidden from us.

As I have conveyed before, I confronted "Eliyahu" with this information we discovered here and he refused to deny or confirm it on December 11, 2011. Obviously, my first question to myself was, why would he do that? He told me flat out that this information was "irrelevant" to his ministry. If that was the truth, then why did he do a program on it a month later. Why did he refuse to tell me personally this information, but then broadcast it to the whole world? The obvious reason was that when I brought it up, he thought he could continue to hide it. When the video was put out on You Tube, he knew he could no longer hide it and thus did the program. Also, note the fact that in his Tsiyon program, he clearly omitted the very obvious fact that he was Steve Butt and ran a polygamist ministry. My simple question is Why? I have clearly stated in my previous post why this information was important to the partners.

The TRUTH here is that this man lied to a ministry leader, has made false accusations that we have personally attacked him and accepted our resignation as of no account to the Tsiyon Ministry. He has also done this to another couple who was planning to move to Texas to be part of the ministry full time. He has clearly stated that if we cannot accept what was done in his past (still without explanation), accept his recent teachings without question, then we simply have no place with the "remnant" and will not be part of the Second Exodus. It is either his way or the "highway". I, for one, believe this to be another one of his false teachings.

I will continue to state for the record the issue is NOT his belief in polygamy, but that this man lied, continues to lie, and now teaches falsely. I am also stating for the record that I am totally committed to the Kingdom work of Yeshua, a Messianic and WILL be part of the Remnant"s return to the Land. It simply will not be done with Tsiyon Ministry.

John,

Thank you for your note which I greatly appreciate. I do credit Eliyahu’s teachings for helping me to see and appreciate the importance of the remnant of Israel. It is largely through these teachings that I now find myself deeply identified with this believing remnant. For a time I also believed his admonitions that to consistently live out this identity one needs to withdraw from membership in any Christian church; consequently I suspended my church membership at the end of August, 2011. Yet I remained consistently aware that God is continuing to do mighty works in the lives and fellowships of Christian believers around the world, and in many Messianic ministries and fellowships as well.

As months passed, I could not deny that in addition to being fully identified with the Messianic movement and the calling out of the remnant, I remained fully identified with the body of Christ at large. Spiritually speaking, I see myself now as a person with dual citizenship: by faith I am a citizen of the believing remnant, the reborn nation of Israel; also by faith and by virtue of the new birth, I am a citizen of the body of Christ/Messiah at large including those who have little or no awareness of their relationship to the believing remnant of Israel. Consequently, I have resumed my membership in the church my wife and I have attended since 1977, as well as my ministry at care centers under the aegis of this church.

On the subject of Eliyahu/Steve’s past polygamy, in early August a friend had informed me that Eliyahu’s previous first name was Steve. With this clue I was able to do internet searches that uncovered a transcript of the November 17, 1999 CBS News program featuring Steve Butt and his three wives and children, though I never saw the video itself until the link was posted on this forum. (By the way, I am curious to know where you obtained information about a fourth wife.) The transcript alone was convincing enough evidence that Steve Butt and Eliyahu were the same person. When I questioned him about this at the time, he neither confirmed nor denied it, but I let him know I was well aware of this identity. Since he appeared to have disassociated himself from this life style, and stated he was not recommending it for others in this society, I let the matter ride. I presumed his motive in trying to keep this identity hidden was that he knew this past activity would be repugnant to potential supporters of the Tsiyon ministry, however irrelevant he considers it to be.

This policy of disassociating himself from his past identity – hiding significant aspects of his past which others do consider relevant – has led to increasingly misleading statements, and finally to outright lies according to your statements above. I have great respect for your integrity, and your statements therefore carry much weight. I expect to be conferring with Eliyahu/Steve on this matter before personally extending further support to Tsiyon ministry. Thank you again for your caring and helpful note. I wish you and your wife all the best, and pray that Yah will cause these events to work together for good. You and she (and I, God willing) will definitely be part of the Remnant’s return to the Land!

David

This thread is about the mystery and concerns behind one teacher that most people know only through what is presented via the media. Questions have been raised over time that this teacher has refused to discuss.

Biblical models for teachers would include that of a shepherd with their sheep and a master followed by their disciples. Both of these models involve a 24/7 daily relationship of personal contact. Messiah Yeshua is our model. Shepherds know their sheep intimately and teach and preserve them. This is the context in which the familiar “iron sharpening iron” metaphor is presented; a mutual process of the shepherd nurturing the sheep until they grow and become companions. Teachers, because only Yeshua is Master of all, also are to know their students, teaching and preserving them. But in the human example, the students/disciples are able to speak up, ask questions and challenge. For Yeshua there was no guile or deceit in Him, so there was nothing that needed to be corrected in Him by His students. For human teachers it is another matter. It is common knowledge for a student of the Word that a teacher is held to a higher standard. There is good reason for this as they, like shepherds, have in effect, accepted responsibility for what they teach and how they do it.

In many examples Scripturally, there is evidence of plural leadership, prophet, priest and king; or a three strand cord as exemplified in Peter, James and John per Galatians 2:9; an arrangement which provides an internal accountability structure, such as we see with Nathan holding David accountable. A process for dealing with concerns for one another is provided in Matthew 18: Speak to the person personally. If they will not listen, take another as witness. If they still will not listen, take it to the assembly.

Messiah Yeshua was here on earth, fulfilling the first part of His work on our behalf, as the Suffering Servant. We could not all be present at the same time, but He provided for eye witness testimonies so that we could also be assured. Second only to being present yourself, an eye witness testimony to something is the next best assurance possible.

In our modern context, teachers are able to reach people around the world. In effect, the “world” becomes their congregation since the “members” cannot all be in one place at one time. The daily interaction and accountability so crucial to the “iron sharpening iron” and accountability process is greatly reduced if not impossible. The world is their stage so to speak.

Among those student/members, there will be some who have first-hand experience with that teacher. They must function then as the eye-witness to what they see, on behalf of those who can only see from afar. Whether they have chosen that role or not; it is theirs. Their integrity and credibility then, is as much at stake as the teachers.

I believe what has been going on here in this thread is an interaction between that world/congregation and this one teacher, Steve Butt, now also known as Eliyahu ben David. This ministry does not have a board nor does it appear to have an accountability structure. He has refused to allow these questions to be addressed on his “home ground” website, so the discussion has moved to this larger stage, the “world congregation.”

Without our awareness, I believe that YHWH has been orchestrating a form of a Matthew 18 process here. Since the “congregation” is worldwide, they cannot all see firsthand what is taking place. Several people with firsthand knowledge and observation have come together to attempt to solve the mystery and inconsistencies seen in this particular teacher/ministry. Each of us has played a role that was unknown to the others until it began to come to light here.

As a recent post has observed, it is true that many of the actions listed could be taken as appropriate ones, above reproach. In fact, that is what most people have been doing for Steve/Eliyahu. I can speak for myself here saying that we had concerns but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong so we continued to talk, listen and observe this teacher and ministry, until it became evident that I was even to visit personally. Others have been more closely involved in day to day interactions, either on site or through the media.

One person who personally knew of the connection between the legal name and the current name being used was able to provide the facts that brought the two together. This was done out of concern for the individual and for those he teaches, as far as I understand due to the nature of both the previous ministry and behavior patterns previously observed that might not bode well. I believe there was also concern about misrepresentation, but that person could better address this. This would not have been necessary to do had there been full disclosure of that history, rather than the selectively edited history that has been provided.

I know that not all reasons for concern have been brought to light for full public disclosure. This seems fitting, a preference to leave them on a “need to know” basis. Discretion is appropriate but not to be construed as there being inadequate reason for concern. Some things are best left for private personal interaction. I believe this speaks well for the integrity of those witnesses. Others are able to contact these personal witnesses and learn about their character and reasons on a personal basis if they choose.

This Matthew 18 process that it appears our Abba has orchestrated has involved at least 3 people to my knowledge; perhaps more? Though many may have been uncomfortable or had unanswered questions, only some have personally interacted with Steve in attempts to resolve them.

Apparently, at least one individual learned of this past history and asked Steve/Eliyahu about this in November 2011. We followed that with our personal telephone contact and questions on December 6, 2011. A third confrontation occurred within 2 weeks of that time. In each of these situations, the response has been that Steve would not discuss, confirm or deny anything, especially by phone or email. When we spoke with him, he first said he had no idea what was being said so he couldn’t respond. My co-leader and I repeatedly urged him to voluntarily deal with this information and bring disclosure as evidence of good faith. When I briefly summarized what had been brought into the light, which was in very specific detail, he then refused as above.

He further stated that neither we nor anyone else had any need to know of his history and asserted that accountability is not a Biblical concept. Now, I know that this information had recently been brought to his attention, so his apparent surprise and position that he didn’t know what might have been known does not appear genuine. I have since learned that other concerns had been presented to Steve in the months prior to these three efforts as well, all without satisfactory resolution, according to these eye witnesses.

So I believe the process is in the third stage: personal questioning has occurred. Others have been “brought along.” Now here, in this “world stage” it has been taken before the assembly since he refuses to allow such discussion at his site. So far, Steve has only shown evidence of resisting this accountability, characterizing the process as a personal attack.

One good outcome has been that he has now brought some of this information about his past ministry and ongoing pro-polygamy position, that he said no one needed to know, into the light on his program. With this disclosure, at least students/members now have the opportunity to practice their personal discernment as to whether or not they agree.

May the Elohim and Father of us all have His Hand on the whole process, so that His plan will ultimately come to fullness. It is only in Him that this will be possible.

One thing that might or might not have occurred to most invovled along the lines of Sam Wis' post #146 - as you folks all found your way here, it would stand to reason Mr. Butt has too; in lurking mode.
Since this thread began, how many days has he had to come into the conversation to state his stand, or to reach out provately to one or two of his closer associates that are posting here?
His silence speaks volumes.
For those of you who have realized it's time to move on, I pray this forum will be able to aid in your healing. The hurt must be great.
For those of you who have tried to stand firm for him, I pray you soon see that perhaps it's time to count the losses and move on. And in that, I pray this forum will be able to assist in that healing as well.

Yedida,
This is very well said. I who was once a very close associate of this man, has been hurt a great deal, but I am moving on. Yeshua has much more important work to do which I desire to be part of. For the interim, I will make myself available privately to anyone who seeks further information on this matter and wishes to discuss the matter truthfully.

BTW, I personally believe that Steve Butt may have sent ISA4780 to speak for him. I doubt Steve would come to this forum, but he would send others to submit his case. This is only conjecture, but it is a thought.

As has become very evident, this man known as ISA4780 has continued to cloud the primary issue of this forum's thread. He has stated very clearly his views and teaching of polygamy which can be debated ad infinitum. I, for one, WILL NOT respond to this man as his polygamist agenda is not the focus here and I am asking others to do the same. This is an open forum and he can continue to present his agenda unless banned by the Moderator, but responses to his posts only encourage this unnecessary rhetoric.

Many people have a great deal of difficulty separating the process from the content in any difficult situation.

In this forum thread, it is the process--the behavior, the examples set, the accuracy of historical facts vs. personal "spin," the timing, the implications for character, and so forth--culminating in a form of a Matthew 18 accountability process, that is the concern. First hand accounts, including the relevant jury trial results recorded in court history in this situation, carry more weight than long distance perceptions.

The part of the content that relates to whether or not polygamy is Torah pursuant is not the issue here. If there is interest to discuss that subject, I think the correct place is to begin a new thread. There is a human tendency as is true in other highly controversial subjects to wage opinion against opinion, coupled with emotional appeals, often over specific verses, but also often without taking into account the character and nature of our Elohim and His original intent. If anyone chooses to carry on a debate for this subject, a separate thread would be appropriate, unless the subject is not acceptable to CF?

Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit [there is] no guile.

Psalm 32:2 KJV

Guile is defined as: clever or crafty character or behaviour

NASB has it this way:

How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!

What I believe to be the purpose of this forum thread is:
1. The true and public identity of EBD. This is now known from the facts presented.
2. The validity and character of EBD as a teacher or prophet. This is the ongoing discussion based on what has and is taking place at Tsiyon Ministries and the actions of Steve Butt in the past. His teaching of polygamy is NOT the question or discussion. It is a fact now that EBD/Steve still teaches and supports polygamy.
3. Is the Tsiyon Ministry a true Messianic ministry? This is a question that has various factors involved with it, including is this man teaching truth?

I can tell you from experience and can speak (I believe) for at least the majority of Messianics - we DO NOT see polygamy as smiled upon by Hashem!
With that said, it is against CF rules to "push" pro-polgyamist views. This is reportable. Hit the little red button to the top right of offending posts. (The little yellow "button" is for giving good reputation points for a good post and for making short private comments about a post to the author. Just an FYI here. :D)
Sooo, anyone having been asked to stop posting on the subject who does not stop, should be reported.
This thread should now take a turn toward each of you reaching out to one another in an effort to expedite healing and focusing yourselves on finding something/someone you can trust to help in that endeavor.
Be blessed.

Thank you for this information. I am new to forums as well and probably should have known this, but I do now. May we move forward from here in His Love and His Wisdom. Blessings.

If you're new to forums, there is no reason you should have known any of this. I came here from having been on another forum for several years but this one was 100% different, and I am still learning things about this one (and I've been here for over a year now!!). So don't feel bad. ;)

Adding to Yedida's comments. If you are unsure on a point, read the SOP and Forum Rules. If you are still unsure you can PM any of the moderators -Tishri1 and Mark F are useful ones on these fora - and ask them the question. They are very helpful.
