Thought I'd get your attention, since you said Jesus just meant 'not dying spiritually'.
Read what the OP says of what Jesus clearly said.
And?

Just because Infallible Curator does not understand Jesus' oft-repeated way of referring to spiritual life, doesn't require everyone else to do the same.

Jesus made the clear distinction of not dying like the fathers in the wilderness. Read what Jesus said. Even if it meant NO SPIRTUAL DEATH, you'd be fully filled with the Spirit of Life and cross over into LIFE.
Simple.

Simple, but not Biblical.

Just one scripture please.
Let alone, two.

death is implicit by the resurrection and we should expect it outside of Christ's return. Christ himself dies and is resurrected. Are we better than Christ? Christ's words must be interpreted by his own actions, he died and resurrected so we should expect the same fate.

Death will one day be thrown into in the lake of fire but until then or Christ's return death is upon us. Perhaps you may want to call this sleep over death but it should not be seen as physical sleep as our physical bodies are void of life and return to earth. The bible doesn't have a lot to say about after death experiences so we shouldn't build after death theroies that are mainly based on folklore and myth. This is mainly because the Bible is for the living not the dead

If you want eternal life look to Christ but he asks of us to surrender all to do this, that surrender includes your definition of the life he gives. You can only receive what Christ gives you and dissecting his words won't change that.

It's right in your face.
Not only that, Jesus said "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven" -
No death in Heaven, is there?
lol

Posting isolated verses doesn't impliclty state your position. Can you be more clear of what you're trying to say?

Can you show biblical evidence to the contrary? We know Christ's words but how is the bread of life manifested through the believer in the New Testament?

Perhaps we need to work on the language. When a believer looses breath in their body, their heart stops, all brain activity ceases and the body returns to the earth what do you call this? And do you have a new testament examples or since then of one who has escaped it?

Anyone think he was refering to the Lord's supper?

He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
— John 6:54
Yes.

It is the NT sacrificial meal of fellowship with the Priest who offered it (Jesus), just as the OT Fellowship sacrifice included a meal on the sacrifice, where the Israelite participated in a fellowship meal with the priest who offered it, receiving within themselves the benefits of the sacrifice.

Watch the doubters jump around on this one:

Jesus made the clear distinction of not dying like the fathers in the wilderness.

48 I am that bread of life.

49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven,
that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
This is Jesus referencing salvation. He is the bread that restores the life of God lost in Adam back in the Garden.

Not die the "second death" conquered by Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

It clearly refers the Eucharist.

The word used for eat does not mean consume it means “ gnaw” as of flesh. It is because he referred to eating his flesh and drinking his blood that the Jews were horrified. Many of his supporters left in disgust. Jesus did not call them back.

Paul says that “ some are sick, some have died” because of profaning it. So it is no mere symbol.

Thats why johns disciples talk clearly of a eucharist of the real flesh, valid only if presided by bishop in succession, it is also why the Romans misunderstood what they were told by tortured deacons, they considered Christians were cannibals.

Fast forward to the generation of the creed and New Testament canon where anasthasius of council of nicea says clearly “ before the blessing is just bread and wine, after it is the body and blood of our Lord.

That is what all Christians believed unchanged till the reformation.

Jesus says unless you eat of it, you have no life in you. If you do he will raise you up.

It is not a symbol.

And as the forensics of many Eucharistic miracles confirm - it can sometimes be seen as living heart myocardium, with the trauma of beating.

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, I love, and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love God. (the angels prayer taught to the children at Fatima)

Your gospel is, the eucharist is the way to eternal life?

Romans 10:9-10

King James Version

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Why not believe scripture instead. Dont get me wrong, the eucharist is a valid sacrament. But it is not for salvation. Baptism in the other hand may be needed if you use it as your confesion of faith.

You can answer your own question (?) by studying the previous context, for example, verses 35-40, in which Jesus clearly says that not dying means that he will resurrect believers ("raise them up").
