Duke nukem: forever released date

Hey everybody, Do you guys know when Duke nukem: forever is going to be released? All they say is: "when its done."

Oh man....I'm about to turn 23. I remember being a SOPHOMORE in highschool when the first news of DNF came out. The official date is "when it's done." I personally doubt it will ever come out.

No the official line is it WILL come out. They have done 2 things that have slowed progress IMHO.

1) was they changed from using the Q3 engine to using the Unreal Engine. This was like starting from scratch.

2) They have not tied them selves to ANY 3rd party publisher for the game (yet) so they have no one standing over thier head, threatening to take away thier funding, saying "We want it in the shops by christmas or else".

This is actaully a GOOD thing as sooo many games have fallen foul to being released too soon, in a very bugged state, soley due to the presures of the publishers on the development houses.

The best thing to do is check out the FAQ and forums on the 3D Realms Website. www.3drealms.com

But the official line is YES it is still being developed (and NOW using the LATEST Unreal Engine (the one used to produce UT2004 (no that doesn't mean they have begun AGAIN, they just ported it to the upgraded version)) This hopefully means LOTS of cars and other stuff to jump in and drive.

The official release date IS.... when it's done.

I say Good on em. I have waited for as long as everyone else. It better be good!

Let's face it, what would they loose if they suddnly said "Sorry guys... this one is NOT going to happen?" Nothing! But they haven't said that... so it WILL happen. (Im hoping)

My responce to all that would be "does anyone like the shadow effect on the flag in my sig? I use that flag as my spray in Counter Strike you know. Starts some interesting online conversations too.

On topic, let's hope that all this time gave them time to fix any bugs or anything in the game. It most likely did..

MechmasterII that really didnt make any sense. I dont think jesus would be playing any games that deals with: shooting, killing, pain, suffering, ect. Jesus is to pure to be like that hes all good. Plus I do like the comment the last guy made about its best not to not have the games come out before christmas and such. That way they can make every thing close to being perfect.

It's always been a good engine. So fast and excellent level of detail.

When I do a game (which will probably start of as a MOD to be honest) I think the Unreal Engine is the one to go with.

(well that gave me something to write while I wait for Steam to update itself AGAIN!!! GGRRRRRRRR)
