drinking is not a sin. just don't make a habit of it. a few drinks every once in a while is perfectly fine. however, drinking may cause you to commit other sins. just be careful.

If you feel that denying yourself booze is better for your own person, then that is fine man. More power to you. Just know that there is no higher place in heaven for that position.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-10
1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. 9 What gain has the worker from his toil? 10 I have seen the business that God has given to the sons of men to be busy with.
Drinking for social reasons is a bad reason to drink.Jesusfreak811 said:Hey everyone! I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on alcohol. I'v never really drank alot... even before I came to know the Lord. However, all through the year a friend of the family has parties (like halloween, Christmas eve, new years, ect.) and usually everyone has a few drinks. These are not the kind of parties where everyone gets drunk, has sex with someone they don't know, and passes out. It's just simple, friends getting together having a few drinks. My question to all of you is, how do you think God feels about alcohol?? Do you think that it is a sin?? Is is it a sin? Alot of people convert back to the bible about it. They say that Jesus drank wine. Well, my youth pastor used to tell us that if we could make wine the way the Lord did then we should feel free to drink. I don't know... I'm confused about it! Saturday is the Christmas eve party and I don't want to do anything to up set the Lord.

No I do not think personally it is a sin.
At the end of the day nobody can make the choice for you, it has to be your decision wheither or not you want to drink.
ZACTAK said:I personally think it is fine as long as you drink in moderation as the BIBLE says. It doesn't outline anywhere that drinking is a sin, however it does say drunkeness is!
