  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Don't blame it on God, Adam caused it.

Who created all of the rest of mankind to be in Adam so as to become sinful by his sin?

Laws of creation and progeny were set in place before Adam was created.

So, GOD did set up the sinfulness of mankind all according to HIS creative decree...so,

so why why do we not blame HIM for the sins of mankind since no one (in Calvin land) ever chose to be sinful by their free will except Adam, Eve and the fallen angels?

And, if they got this ability to choose, why not us?

Don't blame it on Calvin.

How did Calvin get into this? That man must live in your head. . .and rent-free, at that.
ever chose to be sinful by their free will except Adam, Eve and the fallen angels?
Asked and answered in Romans 9:16-21.

And don't blame it on Calvin. . .he never met Paul!

Can you expound on that. Aside from the tulip thing it seems innocent. They do believe in pre selection.as far as I have seen.
I am not a Calvinist rather I belong to a large Southern denomination and I graduated from their flagship seminary. As I understand "Calvinism" some are predestined to salvation and others are predestined to condemnation and there is nothing either group can do about it. I definitely do not believe that.
John 3:14-19
(14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
(15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Note "whosoever believeth." It does not say "whosoever of the chosen few!"
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Note, "God so loved the world" NOT "God so loved the chosen few"
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Note, "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world" "but that the world, NOT the chosen few, through him might be saved."
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

This passage is seems to me to be describing HIS treatment of sinners ! not THAT HE IS RIGHTEOUS TO MAKE THEM SINNERS! Your willingness to blaspheme HIM astounds me!

And don't blame it on Calvin. . .he never met Paul!
No, all he did was to provide a blasphemous interpretation of scripture to explain for us how we could be born, ie created, as sinners as scripture dictates, by HIS will not by our own free will choice to rebel against HIM, without any care for or attention to any of HIS attributes of being loving, righteous and just EXCEPT that HE is Sovereign!!!

HIS sovereignty SUPPORTS, fulfills HIS love; it does not supercede it or override it as you suggest! Passing over some for salvation for no condition found in them is NOT being loving to them! Period! No matter how perfect HIS sovereignty is!! While loving them HE remains righteous to pass them over for salvation only if their free will choice was to reject HIM as GOD and Saviour which free will decision HE had to accept or their will was not free at all.

It is NOT righteous just because HE did it and HE is sovereign.

It is NOT just just because HE did it and HE is sovereign.

No, every righteous, loving and just choice is chosen to be implemented by HIS sovereignty, NOT defined by it as righteous, loving and just!

Then you aren't taking the text at its word and, therefore, don't understand the principle involved in Romans 9:19:

If it is God who hardens and makes men sin (v. 18), then why does he blame them for sinning?

Don't blame it on Calvin.

Don't blame it on Calvin.
Calvin says that is the way it is...
Then Calvin is in agreement with authoritative NT apostolic teaching of Romans 9:19 above.

So what's the problem with Calvin?

So, do you believe that God knows which way we will choose before we are born? Thus his selection or rejection. That means we determine our destination by our selection.
