People will know that time is running out when millions of people will suddenly go missing, and a leader will emerge who will unite the world in one government and religion to put things back together after the loss of so many people which put national governments and economic systems into chaos.

Thru the bumbling actions of the world's leaders and their electorates, the world's economies fail and take with them their governments. A leader arises out of the chaos and promise to restore peace. And peace does come to the world for a time, as the populace shifts it's anger onto religion and it's followers. Many who thought they would never see this day abandon their faith, lest they be jailed or killed. And many are killed, there is no peace for them. Finally, Christ returns to gather the small remnant that remain. Then the horses are unleashed and peace is taken from the world in a way that it never has or will be again.
