We all struggle with this issue. I think we should just try to remember that God loves us and created us in his image. Just talk to Him about it and just remember that He loves you no matter what (and so do we). Give all your worries to God and he will take care of you. God Bless

I don't like being me.

Sometimes I get mad at God because he made me this way and he let this stuff happen to me.

How can I stop hating myself?
You know if we liked ourselves, we would probably never have known that we needed a Saviour?
It is hard for us to understand why things happen to us, but over the years I have found that God did not cause the bad things.
I was a child of abusive parents, when I was growing up I use to pray that I would die, the heartache and pain was so bad. As I got older, I began to learn more about my Heavenly Father's nature.
We forget that people have freedom of choice, my parents had the choice of loving me or abusing me. God allowed them choice that is the only thing he allowed.
Out of that choice, he allowed me to come to him, many people live life's of desperation never knowing God, and go out into eternity lost. He made even those bad things that happened in my childhood work for my good.
I have learned to trust and adore him as my loving Father, and I as his little child.
He even allowed me to reach my parents before they died, so that they could receive forgiveness for their sins. He is truly a merciful good God.
Remember, you have become a new creation, created in Christ Jesus old things have passed away and all things have become new. I know that it is hard to see good in our pain at times, but he is good, we can trust him for that.
In the meantime my prayers go out to you.
A loving sister in Christ

You have to walk away from everything and begin to see yourself as God sees you.

It's hard to do. It forces you to begin to rely on what is not seen but true instead of what you see and believe to be true.

God made you and he made you for a reason. God makes good stuff.
He loves and adores you.
You might not "see" it. But it is true. His word says so.

Sometimes I don't like being me either. When that happens I try to be thankful for what I have and find ways to help others with what God has given me. God has a way of shaping us how he wants us to be by throwing experiences at us which are useful later in life. It takes awhile before it starts making sense. Trust me.

Psalms 22 is a magnificant account of David when he is in dispare, and even accuses God of leaving him (v.1). I don't have much to add to these other posts, but be honest with God. If you need to scream or accuse Him, don't keep it inside. Tell God exactly what's on your heart and ask him to show you His way out. I love Psalms 22 because it shows David doing exactly that, and then, when it's out of his system, he goes back to promise his allegance to the Lord.

I've never attempted an exegesis on this psalm, but it has been invaluable in my difficult walk with God. Perhaps you can find some worth there.

How can I stop hating myself?

I write with tears and love to you and I am going to say something which you will think crazy and you will must probably hate me for but that's ok because I understand your words so well. You ask the question "how can I stop hating myself" but Tears, the real question is "how can you stop loving yourself so much that you believe you should have and be so much more than what you are." This is very hard in the saying and I know it will be even harder for you in the hearing of it, but forgive me Tears, I must speak. My heart so breaks for those who feel as you do. I once felt so much the same, even to the point of suicide but that was a long time ago and when I say Jesus loves you, I do not speak some "platitude" but truth known through very hard experience. There is nowhere in the Bible where we are told to "love ourselves". We are told to love God and we are told to love our fellowman but never ourselves. This is because we don't need to be told, we do it automatically. The trouble is (because of being separated from God) we do it too much and we think we should be more than what we really are. We are made from the dust and even without sin, we are limited in all things. Our ability to be loving, loyal, wise, righteous, good all these and more have there limits within us and when we add sin to the equation, well it tends to drop the bottom right out. It becomes unbearable to look upon such a person so we make up the person we think we ought to be and we let that person rule our life, telling us how horrible the real us is. But the miracle Tears, is the real us, the one with all the sin, all the wickedness, all the frailty, all the faults, that's the one that Jesus holds in His arms, that's the real us that Jesus so loves, that He died for. You don't have to be afraid to embrace her Tears, she is more beautiful than you can imagine. I know it to be true because I know Jesus well enough to know He loves to be with His friends and I know He is with you and He will never let you go. He said so and I believe Him. I love you too Tears, we all do. Don't give up. My prayers are with you.
