In politics, one looks not into one's heart, but into a politician's actions, and the effects of those actions.

Whether Trump is "racist" is a matter of definition. For example, he doesn't think that blacks should have jobs in his casinos counting money; Jews should have those jobs. Is this belief "racist"? Sure it is. However, the open question is the actions and effects. Trump could have very deep racist attitudes, and YET, he could govern in a way that supports unity and equality. Many brought up in the South have had such a transformation during their lives.

For Trump, it is clear that his statements and actions regarding blacks, Hispanics, and immigrants have had serious racist effects, directly and through the actions of others.

I don't believe he is evil, at least by social standards. I think his statement was ignorant and an example of why live TV and radio is dangerous but the bottom line is we are looking at a guy who believes abortion... the killing of genetic human being with heart beats who are genetically different then their host (mother)..... is going to "save people." Killing one to save another is barbaric. I will leave this thread with that.

I think anytime anyone promotes the killing of a human being, born or unborn, they are at the very least, ignorant. Remember, by the time a woman learns she is pregnant, the DNA that says what is in her is an entirely UNIQUE person is written and the heart is pumping. So we kill to save people? Is that what we've become? Is that what you believe?

Isn't a better answer to get a vasectomy or have your tubes tied rather than kill?

Oh come on...this isn't difficult. Clearly an economic policy that brings black unemployment down to its lowest level in history means he's a racist. See, easy peasy!

What do they have to do then? Improve the economy for all Americans regardless of race? Check! Hire members to be in his administration who are of various races? Check! Simply be called a racist by anyone from the other party who likes making catchy-sounding accusations? Check!

I’m not asking you to prove anything. I’m saying an example of a policy that helps everyone equally doesn’t mean he set out to help minorities specifically. Of course, that doesn’t make him a racist but it doesn’t prove he’s not one either. That specific example doesn’t prove he’s not a racist. That’s all I’m saying.

...Is not an economic policy that is meant to help minorities specifically. Therefore it can’t be used to prove someone’s not a racist. Not when there’s tons of other examples to the contrary.

I get that, but I'm pointing out that he doesn't have to prove he's not a racist. Otherwise, why aren't any of the democrat candidates being asked to prove that they aren't racist, bigoted, homophobic, or any number of accusations Trump and other Republicans asked to prove are untrue?

Is this the speech (statement) you're referring to?

The part, "They're rapists" was obviously "Their rapists", and there should have been a comma after the word "crime". That's the way he said it, but the media has distorted it by changing punctuations and word spellings to create a false narrative. Otherwise, it makes no sense that he would say, "They're (they are) rapists. And some, I assume are good people."
