Why anyone would keep pit bulls - especially with babies - is unfathomable. Frequently, these stories are told about this breed.

Very much this. I get tired of hearing people claim "it's not the breed...it's the owner".

That's not entirely true.

A chihuahua isn't likely to kill your children because it was bred for certain characteristics. It's a very aggressive dog normally, but too small to be a real danger to children. It's been bred to hunt rats if I'm not mistaken....so it's aggression and size help it in this task.

Pit bulls were bred for fighting bulls and bears....to the death. It's level of aggression is suicidal. It will disregard its own safety in a fight.
