  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My husband really raises the roof at night, so much so that we sleep in separate rooms. I say sleep, meaning just that, often starting off the night, and finishing off the night, together, LOL!!! His problem is chronic catarrh. Anyone else have a husband or wife who snores loudly?

my husband snores ALOT! it drives me nuts! when i sleep, i need total SILENCE! so when he snores at night, i usually turn him over...it works for a few minutes...but then he rolls right back over and starts snoring again..

i tried to make him use those snoring strips...but he hated it and refuses to use it...so i am stuck with the noise!!!!

Oh, my husband snores, and get this, he "rocks" OH MY, it drives me crazy, I have to get up and go in the other room sometimes too because in a sound sleep, this huge 6'4 man starts rolling over bumping into me, just bump, bump, bump, it is soooo annoying....
In fact, I can't imagine having to deal with this the rest of my life.....uh huh?????

My husband snores too:sigh:. It's really bad if he has a stuffy head or if the air is dry. I'm such a picky sleeper. It has to be DARK and I don't want to hear any kind of rhythmic noise.

We have this really old fan that I turn on every night. It's noisy because it's so old. I set it right up against the bed so that I can feel and hear the vibrations of the fan. I'd prefer of course to have complete silence, but it does drown out the snoring. I don't know what I'll do when that fan dies.

Oh goodness, thankfully my husband doesn't snore often. Sometimes he will snore, but I'll just push on him a bit to get him to roll over, and he usually stops. I'm such a light sleeper that I can't fall asleep with someone snoring.

My poor husband...I'm the one who gets noisy. He rolls me over and that usually helps. Then there's the way I look if awakened (imagine a deer caught in headlights) I can't focus my eyes for a bit and I have this startled look.
We could be twins - ditto for me - on everything.

My husband snores too, and has been known to wake me up at times. He also has very slight muscular dystophy and will involuntarily shake his legs when he's relaxed. When he gets in a deep sleep, he will stop. Thank God I'm usually in bed asleep before he even gets to bed.

My husband doesn't snore, he talks in his sleep! It usually makes for an interesting night. He mostly talks about fishing or work. Sometimes it's all I can do not to bust-out laughing when he's talking about lures and line tension. I guess that's better than snoring. I pray you will get some rest whenever possible  God bless and good luck.

Oh goodness, my husband snores. Yes, he does. It's awful! It's especially bad when he falls asleep on the couch. It drives me and the girls CRAZY! If he gets too loud, I just have the kids go jump on him for a little while and that usually puts an end to it...for the next 5 minutes, anyway. Sometimes he snores so loudly that he wakes HIMSELF up! *sigh* How much do I love my man?!?! Obviously, a lot!

Of course, I never snore. ;) Hehe!

Love, Heather

OH yah, my hubby snores, not as loud as some men I've heard in my life time. But sometimes it does keep me awake. But I can usually gently elbow him, or push him a little to jolt him, and he seems to switch into a different sleep mode and the snoring stops, atleast long enough for me to fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, his snoring doesn't affect me.

Does my Iddie4him snore? ummmm YOU BET!

He snores so loud that sometimes I just give up and go sleep in my son's room. Sadly, sometimes I can still hear him through the walls! If I wake him up to get him to move over or whatever, he will roll over and start back up again.

I know I snore sometimes, especially when I am congested, stressed out, or pregnant. But he snores for no special reason other than he is asleep!

I read somewhere once that when your husband really bothers you withhis snoring, the best thing to do is talk to a widow and hear how she would do anything to hear her husband snoring just one more time. It sorta puts it in perspective.

Ironically, I can hear mine snoring right this minute...LOL

For those non-snoring partners, there are these really comfortable ear plugs available. They are like silicon?? That is my answer. My husband's parents sleep in separate rooms and even on vacation they have to have separate rooms in hotels and I don't want it to get that way ever so earplugs work for me. Also eventually you get sooo worn out you sleep no matter what!

I am a teeth grinder, no noise, just dental nightmares now!

I use ear plugs when we have have to share a room in a hotel, but they don't entirely block out the sound unfortunately! I must admit some nights I feel quite murderous, especially when he wakes up cheerfully, fully rested, and asks if I had a good night, Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Yes, E-beth is right. I do snore, But, The amazing thing is that she admits she does too. There are nights that I can hardly hear her breathing, But, Most nights she rattles the wallpaper with the best of them. Our son, Matthew, is 22 months old and he even snores a little bit when he sleeps. It's so funny to listen to him.
On those nights when I can't sleep at all, It does get a bit frustrating to lay in bed and listen to her snoring away in peaceful slumber and I am there thinking, Where are my ear muffs ?

Actually, I feel kind of bad for my husband, because I am up and down, up and down, up and down due to size of my bladder and all the liquids I drink, including caffeine, during the day. Plus I'm a night owl- and a day sleeper, especially being how I work graveyard shift. I keep him up sometimes, I'm sure he sleeps better when I'm not home. But he still wants me in bed beside him:blush:
