I asked ChatGPT what percentage of the universe is made up of Dark Energy. By the answer I received (which I included below) it sure seems to me that "reality", the one we live in, amounts to only 5% of the Universe.

The AI's answer...
According to the latest measurements and observations, it is estimated that about 68% of the total energy density in the observable universe is made up of dark energy. Dark energy is a mysterious force that appears to be causing the expansion of the universe to accelerate. The remaining 32% is made up of dark matter (27%) and ordinary matter (5%). However, it's important to note that these estimates are subject to revision as our understanding of the universe improves through new observations and measurements.

I think it was in the June 2005 edition of Scientific American (google it) that they said that our reality is but a shadow of a larger reality.

That's what the Bible has been saying all along! The larger reality is the spiritual realm, of course.

That is a very good article if you can find it still. That they have learned is that, our reality is a digital projection (called the natural realm). So essentially, we really do live in the Matrix. None of this is real. It is a mental exercise, a school of higher learning that exists in the spiritual realm, but we made ourselves isolated from the spiritual realm back when Adam & Eve sinned.

But Jesus changed all that and paid the price for our souls and ripped the veil between the two realms down now. The only veil left now is over our hearts in unbelief. If you believe then you see.

Miracle on 34th Street! "Seeing isn't Believing, Believing is seeing!"

Umm Dark Matter & Dark Energy would still be part of this reality though.
That's like saying just because Hydrogen and Helium are the most common %99 of the universe that the others don't matter.

I think which ever way you look at it its pointing to something beyond the current Standard Model. This may lead to a paradigm shift in what we think makes up reality. Some say the idea of Mind and Consciousness being a fundemental aspect of reality will be the next big frontier of discovery as great as the Copernican Revolution.

This dark energy / dark matter stuff helps me understand this passage better:

2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Only using a definition of 'reality' to be defined as only things we already have some significant grasp of how what the stuff is/how it works -- the physics of it.

With a physics background, I can tell you as fact (not guessing) that physicists consider we only know part of how nature works, and very much is yet to be discovered.

And that's the normal, wonderful situation in physics over the decades, part of what makes it especially worthwhile -- it's about something much more interesting than only applications -- it's the exciting effort to discover nature and how it works. The work over time to try to better understand nature.

So, it appears at this time we currently have only some partial understanding of how what we think is only about 5% of the Universe works. (even for the 5% where we have a lot of well tested physics theory, even in that realm (the 5%) we don't yet understand everything, but far from it, and much effort is ongoing to try to understand that 5% better.)

In my view, not yet knowing much at all about what seems is about 95% of the reality of this Universe should not bother anyone, but is interesting and exciting: it suggests we have much to discover, and discovering new aspect of what exists is exciting/invigorating.

As far as I know, the Standard model is wrecked! It was quantum physics that did it because their testing showed that every atom in the known universe knows what every other atom in the universe is doing when there is any action or change. Supposedly faster than the speed of light.

Know what that means for us Humans? That there is no such thing as privacy on this planet! Never has been, never will be. First they discovered that water has memory. Now they've realized that matter does too. I think that they say that even thoughts affect it. Ever heard the expression of, if these walls could talk? What if they could and we learned how to extract the data.

Found a lady murdered? She has a necklace on, take it and extract the video of the murder and we'll see who it was...Quantum is a very deep subject.

Expecting you mean the standard model of particle physics (as opposed to the standard model of cosmology), 'wrecked' won't really ever be the right word.

Consider Newton's laws, such as used to calculate trajectories of a cannon ball or what not -- is that 'wrecked' because General Relativity has subsumed it? No, Newton's equations are still quite useful in normal everyday conditions in many ordinary applications, and even to calculate space craft trajectories, etc. That they are less exact than General Relativity isn't of concern for a vast number of applications. So, instead of 'wrecked' they are like an old tool still being routinely picked up out of the tool box and used. It's even more that way with the Standard Model -- it's working very well with amazing precision (and we don't even have a theory to subsume it yet either....).

e.g. Electrons’ magnetism confirms particle physics’ most precise prediction

It's working....say, far better than any machine you own like your car or whatnot. Far more precisely/exactly/perfectly than things you use everyday.

That's it's not sufficient to describe every part of reality is only the norm. Analogy: a hammer isn't a very good screwdriver nor works much well where you really do need a screwdriver and don't have one (I've tried once or twice as needed to try to use a hammer claw as a momentary screwdriver, and it works very poorly for that...), but that doesn't make a hammer a useless tool.

After you go to another toolbox and get the screwdriver, you can lay the hammer down and accomplish your goal....but, later, you'll be picking up that hammer again another day for something, and it will work perfectly as a hammer.

Are you suggesting that 95% of the Universe is God?

If He's got the Whole world in His hands, he's got the whole wide world in His hands...Uhhh, maybe!

The scientists are calling it "the Field" and I guess they're searching for the God particle. But they absolutely wont consider God (some of them) so will never find it!

I know what it is! The God Particle has to be Love. Because that's what they have the least of and it is written, God is Love and it also says that Jesus sustains all life, right? SO if God is Love then that explains that.

Do I get a nobel prize now? Lol.

No.

I'm suggesting 95% of the universe is the spiritual realm.

You can call it the spiritual realm and you are not wrong. God isn't up there (well, yes He is!) but the Kingdom of God is spread out upon all the earth (the spiritual realm) and most can not see it. But like it says in scripture, If I go to the mountain, you are there. If I go to sheol behold you are there. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. Literally, you just can't see it. You should be able to from scripture! Let your light shine and so on.

The spiritual realm probably is 95% of everything. It would have to be because scripture says that, it is beyond our comprehension to all that is there! and we're isolated and on House Arrest in these fragile painful bodies! But good news! We were created as eternal beings, in the very image and likeness of God Himself. And us Believers will get to live for eternity as eternal beings. It's easy to be an Eternal being! Well, they say the first 100 years are the hardest, lol. Where we're at!

It may be that as consciousness increases, as we become more aware that this is what is expanding the universe at increasing speeds.

Is this an attempt at a scientific justification for taking LSD?

It shouldn't. (Psuedo) Peter didn't know anything about the composition of the Universe, so he couldn't write about it. You might as well claim this passage was about cryptocurrency blockchains. It would make just as much sense.

Yes it is true, the human conscious mind is only aware of 5% of all thoughts and actions that happen. 95% of your brain, you have no idea about what's going on in there.

Consciousness is limited to only 5% of the brain.
