Does race factor into who you'd date?

That's cool. I don't have any relatives in sports. lol (unless it's midget wrestling! d'oh!)

My coworker at my day job has a cousin that plays in the NHL (actually, I'm not sure he's playing this year...he's at the end of his hockey shelf life).

I do think that Asian men have a much harder time, than Latino and African-American men, finding dates outside of their ethnicity in this area though.

I'm white. I'd love to marry an Asian man (assuming he's Christian--I won't look twice at ANYONE of any race who isn't) If he's from a country where his faith has cost him something, that'd be "WAY kewl."

When it comes down to it, in the area of looks, it depends on the individual person. I do have a tendency to be most attracted to Caucasian and Latino men, but I have seen men of many different races that I was attracted to physically. Ultimately, of course, it would come down to personality and whether or not I clicked with a guy.

I just thought of something. Regardless of race, I find men unattractive :p Really. And I'm straight. *sigh*

I find most men in Indiana unattractive. However....cross into Michigan, Illinois, etc.... and yeeeeeeeeeeeeah baby! :p

For the record though Delicious Bass if I had to say which race of men (subjectively speaking) I found most attractive it would definitely be the Latin men.

If you are a man and I think you're not bad looking, considering yourself a prize to behold:p

Ok DeliciousBass you're not bad looking:)

I totally understand what you're saying when you talk about culture. However, there isn't a complete overlap between race and culture. For example, there are Asians and African Americans and Latinos who grew up in a mostly white neighborhood and attended mostly white schools which is different from if they grew up in an "ethnic neighborhood" and had friends who were mostly the same race. There are Caucasians who studied abroad or did missionary work in an Asian country as well as Caucasians who grew up in mostly black neighborhoods. Etc.
You have got a point there. Please try not to put politics into this but Barack Obama is an example (please as I said, this is not to talk about him as a politician but as a person) - if someone like him were to want to date me I'd say yes^_^^_^

"The look"? What kind of look? How far away was he standing? Did he smile a little? Did he turn away when you looked back?

(Okay, I'm just kidding! I'll stop the psychoanalyzing!)
The kind of look as if I'm a piece of meat (ok not THAT bad). No I wouldn't go that far, but it's not a look of repulsion - I get the feeling. They don't turn away when I see them looking. One guy even smiled a little once. I try to avoid him though. I feel several inches taller than the guy - heck I feel taller than 90% of the guys around me. No wonder...oh never mind

Did I misunderstand your post? Just making sure I don't make a jerkish comment that is not deserved lol.

You find some men attractive right?
actually DB - may I tell you that it kind of was jerkish? :| oh well:) Now I wonder if *I* was jerkish too. It's possible you might have misunderstood so I'll try to explain it again: I do have a hard time finding most men around me attractive at all :| - Ok I KNOW it's not all about the outside - but I don't understand why the men I see in "real" life just don't do anything for me. I'm sure guys don't have a difficult time seeing a pretty girl now and then. But I never see men who I think are "handsome." Granted I don't get out enough:( but when I do, I just don't get it, is something wrong with me? Not trying to say I'm a prize either lol.

I know I'm straight - and yes, I DO find some men attractive - heck, I even stumbled because of one on CF who is married (it's unlikely he'll come over here but if he does - I'm sure he won't care). It's just that for me, attractive men in my eyes are few and far between:|:|

I tend to find men of other countries more attractive - like Latin America and certain places in Europe and stuff...I don't know...I wish it didn't feel this way for me..

Either that or I should quit watching soap opera hunks or something. Ok I don't consciously look at the world that way. TRYING not to be shallow either.

Ah okay, I understand what you are trying to say now. You don't encounter many men that you find attractive day to day.

That IS a good example. Regardless of what someone thinks of his policies, it's no secret to me how he got his political skills. I've been in social environments which were mostly white, black, Asian, as well as middle class, rich, poor, conservative, liberal, moderate, suburban, urban, rural, so much so that it's hard for me to figure out what kind of culture I follow. The benefit of this is that I feel like I can relate to just about anyone!
