Probably not a sense of humour since this is a pretty complex thing to have. It can be argued a lot of people don't have a sense of humour.

Sometimes I think they do. Like when I tell my dog Mercy to go get something to eat and she runs and gets her hotdog squeaky toy and throws it down at my feet...as if to say, "Hey mom, enough with the dog food, I want a hot dog!"

Absolutely not. My cat attempts nothing short of perfection. I keep forgetting that only people [and God Lol] have a sense of humor when I tease Spice. Teasing = tormenting to kitty. Lol. Her and I still have fun though.

Do dogs and cats find things funny? or do they just find things fun? I havent seen a dog laugh or a cat but you can see their eyes light up and a smile =) I think they have true personality and a sense of fun, and pleasure, but i dont think they have a sense of humour...why have a sense of humour when u are unable to laugh?

I get what you mean. Fun and happy is all that is required really.

In terms of sense of humour, what I mean was because they cannot physically show any emotions that they are laughing, but could they be laughing inside.

I think they do. I mean, have you ever played fetch with a dog that runs away with the stick? They'll have laughter in their eyes. Or the cat that is hiding and then jumps out at you and makes you scream?

I certain reckon my dog has a sense of humor-she knows when i upset and she certain act very silly that you can't help laughing at her and her antics.

I honestly don't think that cats and dogs have senses of humors. They might get excited about stuff, but unless they're in a movie or tv show, I don't think that they actually find stuff funny.

I read an article a few months ago, possibly in USAtoday, that said it is thought when dogs are barking and wagging their tails that in fact they are laughing. Seems logical to me.

Now cats, sheesh, they drive me crazy. I have a bro and sis who fight constantly! I thought being neutered and spayed would settle them down but it hasn't.
