Why?

Because I don’t believe in the divine conception story therefore that leaves a father (presumably Joseph) from the Jewish community. Not likely light skinned and blue eyes 2000 years ago.

Joseph was not the natural father of Jesus.

It does say that his looks were nothing out of the ordinary (although I forget the verse offhand). Others will no doubt remember the verse.

Also, remember that the Romans had to have a spy point him out to them when they came to arrest him, although there were apparently only the Apostles on the scene with him.

Since Christianity claims God is his father and Jesus was surely Middle Eastern in appearance, then either God is also Middle Eastern or chose for his son to appear like the locals.

How do you know Jesus was middle eastern in appearance? He said He looked like His Father. God could look like a western person for all we know.
