Do you think it's wrong to get drunk, regardless of circumstance?

Hi there. I know there are lots of Christians out there who believe that it's wrong to get drunk, no matter who you're getting drunk with / where you're getting drunk / the regularity of it. And there also those who believe there's nothing wrong with getting drunk. I'm interested to hear if there are any people who sit in between, who believe that in some circumstances it is okay to get drunk while others not. [ Please no debate on whether it's acceptable to drink alcohol ]

Okay so here's a hypothetical situation:
Would it be acceptable for you and your wife (let's say she is also a Christian and is someone you trust with your life and more) to get drunk in your own home when there is no one around just for the heck of it? Would you see this as being different from getting drunk at a big party?

Thoughts anyone?

The Bible speaks clearly against the lifestyle of drunkeness...which would make one a 'drunkard'. The Bible does not speak as clearly against becoming drunk. I think becoming drunk is unwise...but probably not a sin. However...becoming drunk is the first step to becoming a drunkard...which is a sin. My advice to Christians is simly this: if you have a problem with alcohol...run! Don't touch it. If you don't have a problem with it...enjoy it in moderation and make every attempt to not get drunk. If you do get drunk...learn your lesson and move-on.

Free Hugs,

Whoa, whoa stop. There's no drinking in Iraq? If this is so, truly it is an accursed place.

It is forbidden (U.S. policy) for the military, DoD civilians, or DoD contractors to consume alcohol...which is why people love working for the State Dept and the CIA since they don't have the rules. lol.

Iraq isn't really that bad of a place. It is pretty, actually...and a lot of Biblical history took place here.
