CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I distinguished myself at secondary school (about 12+) by getting nil point for gymnastics! I wouldn't even get down on the mat to try a forward head roll! Well, don't blame me! I'd just come from a little country school whose idea of 'gym' was standing in a circle tossing a bean bag to one another!! I'd arrived on the day of the end of term exams and didn't even know what a forward head roll was!!

We had a p.e. teacher who made us sew our last names on the back of white blouses in big letters so she could remember our names and holler at us. She was always hollering at me.

That's very impressive. Gymnasts always amazed me. Try as I may I could never master hand stands. The balance just wasn't there I guess.

There was a man who visited the public swimming pool, where I used to spend most of my summers as a kid, who could do them from just about any starting position. Many of us would watch as he put on demonstrations of his balance. It was awesome.

In School I was a 'Drummer and a Swimmer' took my
first high-school to State in Oklahoma.
But I count it dung to FOLLOW AFTER CHRIST!!!
But I still have and play the drums and I still swim! LOL
It's the ~vain glory~ I leave behind!!!

She really didn't hurt me.
so no need to shed about it especially after fifty some years. She and I turned out to be good friends eventually. I was a freshman and needed a holler or two.She is one of the reasons I became a teacher myself.
