keeptrying said:Gee I have visited many of those places (sign of old age) but the one that struck me the most today is the skating rink.
My mother would drop my sisters and I off at the town skating rink and we would spend the day there with each other and friends. That was back in the day you could leave your young children in a public place. Nice memory for me.

..... actually everyone had weathered quite well. It was fun seeing everyone.

I have been to 3 reunions. The last was the 40th...Who were all those old people

High School Reunion. I never went to an 8th grade reunion but at one of my high school reunions one of my old boyfriends hugged me so tightly it hurt. My husband was standing next to me, so I introduced them.![]()

Needless to say on the way back to taking me home we had a flat tire. The guy didn't have a spare tire so we drove on the tire until it was just the rim until he could get me home. We also got us a coke with 2 straws because we didn't have the money to buy 2 cokes instead of just one. That was really something to remember....Just silly teenagers backin the 60's!

She did too. She had been a very good skater in her day.... alas. Here I am at this age and skating sounds like so much fun... but then I remember:keeptrying said:I can't even imagine my mother on a pair of skates! Your poor mom, but how nice of her to want to do something with her children that they enjoyed, just wished it would have turned out better for her.

creaky knees
squeaky hips
and a strong desire to NOT end up on the floor. LOL
