Interesting thread. My type used to be dark hari, dark complexion, dark eyes... My exwife is a blonde haired, blue eyed, light complected beauty...

Being single again, I've actually thought about this once or twice... And I've realized that the "physical" type that I would typically be drawn to means so little to me now... Now my type is much different: Great personality, fun, great laugh and smile, honest, good communicator, blunt, goofy... someone who likes me for who I am, someone I can trust with my deepest dreams and fears, someone who is impressed when I am just "me"...

Beautiful women are beautiful women... But if they don't have the personality, the spirituality and the "other" things... they are just beautiful women...

I am attracted to medium to large built guys, they do not have to be "in shape" and have dark features such as dark brown hair or eyes. Maybe 5"8 and up? Oops I am getting to specific.
As long as he has a strong faith in God and I can get along with, that will be fine for me.

I learned through my marriage/divorce something very important... Well, many important things... Anyway, it's terribly important to remember, or at least consider, that the person we describe as our perfect match; the person we envision in our minds eye when we dream of our marriage and life... may not be the person that God has planned for our future. So why put strict boundaries on what we think we want? Look at a persons character, a persons spirit, a persons soul... everything else is frivolous.

Definitely a strong desire to grow in the Lord but other than that...

My two definites are no one over 5'10". I'm short, only 5'2" and I wanna be able to reach up and steal a hug. The other is an awesome sense of humor and the ability to laugh in the middle of a fight - no matter how mad you are. Find the humor in everything.

No specific hair or eye color but I always go for the rugged, adventurous guy type. From past experience it seems I have a thing for surfers and soccer players.

No hoosier that isnt necessarily true- as many men as there are is as many different tastes as there are. As there are men who seek out fit women there are also men who seek out women who arent so fit. And that is a gaurantee.

I take it you're thin so you wouldn't understand. If you read any post from any male on here you see words like 'athletic', 'petite', 'fit'....blah, blah blah. Even a profession to love the Lord and seek out His will doesn't take away the shallow attitudes and unrealistic ideals that we in the western world are brainwashed with from practically the time we're conceived. Fat women are equal to trailer trash and considered dumb, ugly and lazy. I can't deny the ugly part but I think I'm somewhat intelligent and I work 3 jobs so I'm hardly lazy. We shouldn't settle for second best but the way things are going, Darwin's ideas will come true....'survival of the fittest.' Those who aren't FIT will just be left alone to rot.

hmmmm....I know which trailer park I can find them in too. lol!! The keyword here is 'subculture.' :-(

Anyway...back to the OP. If a man in his right mind would ever be interested I would hope he has a great sense of humour and doesn't mind my obsession with watching hockey. I prefer men who aren't from Indiana because Indiana men are all abusive and just plain creepy.

Well Hoosier thank God that the men on these boards arent the only ones who inhabit the Earth. I do notice the 'fit', 'petite', 'likes to work out' and even the little gem from some guy in the beginning who made it his personal business to point out that he did not like "round" women. (I think the poster after him made a good point LOL) anyways, some men will one day find that some of their perfect and ideal women will gain 30lbs after marriage and babies, they will get old and acquire wrinkles and gray hair- then what will they do? If there is no other quality to that woman what is the point? If they will turn down a woman who has all of the qualities that cannot be touched(kind, caring, loving, God fearing) and he turns her down because of her race, size etc- who is the one that is losing out? In my opinion it isnt her.
Being shallow is something to regret. If a man marries a woman only based on what she looks llike then he is setting himself up for a fall- he will realize that as he is heading to the divorce court, by this time it is too late, but still yet a lesson learned.
There really are men out there who will accept you as you are, and there is nothing wrong with them- they wont even consider you a fetish. One of my best friends is a heavier woman, and I must tell you she's never had trouble finding a good man to love and respect her- in his right mind, and not from a specific state. There are good men out there for all of us. God wouldnt make it any other way.

I actually do prefer to have a lady that has a "few extra pounds". I can not stand a skinny chik!!!!!! Most of them look like that if you even look at them in the wrong way that you would break them.

So if you take my height that I prefer and have the size of atlest a 8-10 anything under an 8 in my eye's is too skinny.

I also don't mind a few extra pounds, and prefer it to the "too skinny" look. As long as good health and staying fit are the goal. I have also had to struggle with weight, having recent lost a lot. My success in this area would be an encouragement to lose, yet I would be understanding along the way.

btw, The girl that I described in my first post is the girl that I am marrying next year. Maybe that will put it in a little better of a perspective for you. IT was not just a shallow wish list- it is a reality.

And here is another reality: I know that she will not be skinny forever. I am not dumb. I have seen people before and after having children. I have seen her mother. I am not stuck in some pretend world of idealism. I understand all of what you guys are saying, but some of you should probably watch the generalizations...they are just plain false as a generalization.
