Good for you ischus- but realize that you are probably in the minority. Just as not all guys are shallow, there are some who are nothing but (this goes for females too), and that is not a false generalization.

Bah, I didn't mean my comment about overweight women to be a slam. I was just stating what I personally don't find physically attractive. I said nothing about intelligence nore did I say anything about activity level. I was speaking mearly of body form which I find unattractive which generally has nothing to do with personality what-so-ever.

I really don't appreciate the comments made, just because I (and guys who have similar attractions) don't find overweight women attractive does NOT mean I am shallow. It has nothing to do with a person's value or who they are but is nothing more then a physical element.

You all, with your negative attitudes, need to cut with the bashing of the male posters.

I also don't mind a few extra pounds, and prefer it to the "too skinny" look. As long as good health and staying fit are the goal. I have also had to struggle with weight, having recent lost a lot. My success in this area would be an encouragement to lose, yet I would be understanding along the way.

For some of us, it's not about wanting to stay in this situation and wallowing in self-pity or sitting around eating bon-bons watching soaps. My own story: I work 3 jobs, two of them are sit-down. I work out but unfortunately due to the work schedule it isn't consistent. Health IS important to me but if people look at the outside they wouldn't know it. I don't have any intentions of staying in a situation where I am at risk for certain health problems (heart disease, cancer, diabetes...all run in the family!). A lot my current weight was gained while I was working full-time and putting myself through college (also full time). I let myself go to pursue a 'dream' but was so busy at the time that I didn't even realize it. Graduation day came and I was about 35 pounds heavier! EEK!!!

As for some of you who don't appreciate the 'bashing'..... I dont' know what things are like where you live but I'm basing my comments on what I observe in Indiana. Someday I hope God blesses me to move away from this armpit of the US but for now I have to deal with it.

There really are men out there who will accept you as you are, and there is nothing wrong with them- they wont even consider you a fetish. One of my best friends is a heavier woman, and I must tell you she's never had trouble finding a good man to love and respect her- in his right mind, and not from a specific state. There are good men out there for all of us. God wouldnt make it any other way.

Yeah, my mum works with a woman similar to what you described. She says this woman 'doesn't even have half the personality that you have' and yet she met a nice, decent-looking guy (online apparently) and they met and ended up married. She also says this woman is heavier than me. (yikes!) I didn't ask her if she was short. At only 4'11" I think I'm just 'overlooked'! lol!!!

Look- we all have our preferences and our dislikes- I personally would prefer a guy to be taller than me, but I dont know what God has for me, so I cant hold steadfast to it. Do I think that makes me shallow- nope- it's a preference, but there are women who will only go out with tall guys, if they are not tall then forget it- and that is shallow. I dont understand how you misconstrue one for the other.
For every person who does not like one thing there is someone else who likes something else. Not once did I or anyone else say that you should change your preferences- did you see that anywhere?
I dont understand why you guys are worrying about it if you dont feel you are shallow. If you arent shallow then the comments werent made towards you, and they shouldnt bother you.

My type is what I call...brianic chic- I love girls who are extremely intelligent and can leave me wondering what it was they just said. Glasses a definite plus. I prefer darker hair, but it doesnt matter if it is long or short. Body type- I like short girls, over 5'6 makes me nervous LOL- Im not that tall myself. I like nice hands and nice feet and if a girl has a sparkiling smile- Im hers! This is the kind of girl I find myself attracted to. My girlfriend is everything I just wrote. what's my type? I really don't want to take out my list but, here's like a few details: Other than being just Godly--he must be in love with Christ and that his main focus is to glorify His name in everything he do, as for other stuff about at least 2'' taller than me or taller is good, I'm attracted to both brunettes and blondes, blue eyes (esp. guys w/ brown--golden hair), intellectual, not a bum, has a good personality, good sense of humor, generous, and is very nice--accepts me the way I am, MUST not look at other girls and compare me with other girls, have the same beliefs as I have, caring, humble, sensitive--but in a manly way, and the list goes on... As for the age range--the perfect age is 2 years older than I am, a year younger is fine, but the max age is 5-7 years older than I am. OK, I'm embarrassed now...

Well for me there are lots of types that i'm attracted to. That's the good thing you see. I'm attracted to those who can express themselves and are opiniated but not critical, those who are sensitive and smart but not docile, those who are good in mixing with people but not a flirt and those who are godly.

If ever i can find a girl that has all of these qualities, i don't know what i'll do..haha. basically the ideal girl is one who is versatile(adapt to situations and people) and multi-talented.(musically talented and sporty) and to top it all off, godly..also this girl needs to be able to think on her own and not wait for me to tell her what to do always BUT if she's already versatile and multi-talented, then this won't be a problem anyway. I guess i have high standards, but i'm also strict with myself that i continually strive for the same standards that i look for in an ideal girl.

Preferences . . . well, I'm attracted to so many different men that have various characteristics. But what I do find myself attracted to is:

Taller than me (6'+)
Darker hair
Dark or green eyes
build: varies person to person

Personality wise . . . there's no way that I can ever make a list of something that I prefer personality wise. I mean, there are so many different traits that I like and so many variables and there are so many types of people out there. Physically I'm attracted to various types of people--same personality wise. I think making a laundry list of what you want and what you don't want is really damaging.

Hey, I know tall girls rock! Im a shorty though- Im only 5'8- when i was dating it seemed like tall girls would shun me- dating me was below them LOL pun intended. I did manage to date two girls who were taller than me though. I really was a little nervous around girls who could drink a bowl of soup off of my head! What if I said or did something she didn't like...there is potential there to get hurt. Pain is not my thing.
Little did I know that it was practice. Being so attentive to what I was saying and doing helped in a way because now, I always do what I can to keep the ladies happy.

I'm not really particular on hair or eye color or even skin color. A good sense of humor is a must and intelligence whether academic or not. Most importantly is a love and devotion for Jesus. I wouldn't be with a woman who loved me more than she loved Jesus. That's why my wife and I are so happy.

But if I had to pick a type and say that was my ideal, I'd pick Queen Latifah. She is so hot with that big, plush body . I like a big woman who is comfortable with her body and isn't ashamed to be herself.
