  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i looooooove grits :yum:
Don't know if I ever tried 'em or not :o

Grits - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grits is a food of Native American origin that is common in the Southern United States, mainly used in breakfast. It consists of coarsely ground corn (when grits is made from hominy, it is referred to as hominy grits). It is sometimes called sofkee or sofkey from the Creek word.[1][2] The name 'grits' is most likely to have derived from the German term "Grütze", which in turn derived from the Italian term "Gruzzi", meaning crushed (or coarsely ground) corn...............

I kinda like it mixed in with Menudo......yummy!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menudo_(soup)

The soup menudo is a traditional Mexican dish, made with beef stomach in a clear broth or with a red chili base (this variation is called menudo colorado). Usually, lime, chopped onions, and chopped cilantro are added, as well as crushed oregano and crushed red chili peppers. Boiled tripe has a tough chewy texture very similar to calamari, but with a completely unique flavor and smell.

anyway, back on subject, to me, the 10 commandments are the foundation of what Christ taught. The first five are guidelines for our relationship with God...The last five are guidelines for our relationship with our fellow man.

If you follow Christ's two Great Commandments, you are in essence following all ten.

Some folks desire to keep the Sabbath holy, but have no choice but to work on whichever day their Sabbath falls on, in order to keep the job their family depends on.

Those who are led by the Spirit are sons, Rom 8:14, not a rule book. Jesus said it is better i go away, the Spirit will come, and guide you, not a rule book.

Spirt and faith, is the new way. People are afraid to let go of structure, and trust the Spirit like the brave galatians did. The got the Spirit by believing, not reading.:D

Rom 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Nope! that means we're not obligated to them. My question is to whom were the 10 Cs given? Be inclusive with a Scripture, please.Where does the spirit of the law idea come from? It isn't the Scripture. What does Romans 7 say concerning the matter?Tell us what you believe. We don't desire to make false accusations. The question sounds like baiting/trolling to me. Notice I said sounds like. I didn't say it was.Nope! Galatians 5:19-21.
What kind of crazy idea is it that we are to keep the 10 but we are not obligated to them. I have seen some real fancy dancing when it comes to the 10 commandments. What would or is God saying now.

Hmmm! I thought the claim has always been the Spirit enables us to meet the requirements of the law. What happened to that claim?
Why do you need to meet the requirement of the law if there is now law?

What about trusting God to provide a job that would allow you to keep the Sabbath?

Grace does not allow what the law forbade. Grace is not a license to lawlessness.

Please note: We do not obtain salvation through obedience. We obey to show love for God.
Great, that includes the 10 commandments people.

Frogster - are you suggesting that those sons, led by the spirit, are altogether lawless? Are you arguing for a right to sin?

where did I say that?

But where does sin have dominion, under law or grace?

6;14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace

Do we trust the Spirt in us for righteousness, or self. According to the bible, when we look to works, as a continuation of what God started, we are in the flesh, and we lost the meaning of the cross..

3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
