• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Are we not to try and save people as Christians? I often look at two statements in the Bible: Jude 22-23 Be merciful to those who doubt, snatch others from the fire and save them, to others show mercy, mixed with fear - hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Now Jude is talking about about Christians, once saved, evidently taking the grace of our Lord as a license to sin. It talks about a dark place for them that think this way. Jude is talking to us as friends and telling us to save immoral Christians. Perhaps try convincing them that their ways are in error from the truth. This person is a Christian in that he was saved by the Lord, but then thinks by grace that he has a license to sin. Paul says, What shall we do? Keep on sinning so that grace can be more a bound. God forbid. This tells us grace can be abused.

In James 5:19- 20 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the errors of his way will save him from death and cover a multitude of sins.

This tells me that we are to try to save those whom wander away from the truth by error. That we should never let a person believe a lie. Stand firm on our teachings of the Bible. One that wanders from the truth, is a brother or fellow Christian.

So are we to try and save those, that are fooling themselves as Christians and bring them back to seeing the truth of Jesus Christ. Too see the lie and live a life of sin, is the outcome of those whom don't really know God. They also teach others to follow their ways, leading them astray also.

If you feel God is calling you to correct other believers try to do it in this way:

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness [gentleness]; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

I believe firstly in prayer, pray a lot about a situation before you act. Then ask God to open up a door for you where the person will listen.
