From what I understand, those people who reject God, or hate God, and consider their "all" as themselves, and their "all" as this world, become monsters. Those people will be punished for eternity.

well, you don't become literal monsters. however, if you reject the God Who is light, love, peace, justice, holiness, righteousness, rest, etc., you chose darkness, hate, chaos, injustice, lust, toil, etc.

that's a bad way to be for all eternity
