I believe we do need to make people scared of practising crimes, so that there is awareness of what is and isn't acceptable.

If we are seen as weaklings by conforming to the wicked ways of this generation, then we are giving the green light for them to pour more vial acts because we are seen to condone those acts. In effect we become accessories to their criminal practises.

The fear of God is what we ought to be drumming up in their minds and hearts, for the fear of God is the motivating factor that will rally them back to the truth or at least deter lawlessness from growing rampant.

Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites because they would make rules, yet they themselves did not follow them as if to imply that they were above the rules. If you read the context in its entirety you would have discovered that Jesus instructed to listen and obey everything that the Pharisees instructed of you, but don't do as they did, because they never followed their own instructions, therefore Jesus called then hypocrites.

Your argument falls down if you are applying these words of Jesus to ordinary people. Jesus was speaking to religious leaders who believed they had all the truth and had authority to speak for God. He was not speaking to ordinary people when He said these things, so they cannot apply in evangelistic environments. You may need to find other things that Jesus said to ordinary people to encourage them to believe in Him.

No, he doesn't force people onto him. He simply tells them the way it is with no cheesyness attached, that is if people want to hear the truth. That is why he would say they have ears, so listen and have eyes, so discern with your mind.

Then to those who want to force themselves into him, who do not listen to him or please him, he would say.....

And here is the outcome of those who continue to practise lawlessness and think that they can force themselves onto Jesus....

Sexual immorality includes adultry and homosexuality and beastiality and pedophilia.

In the last days many will be forcing themselves onto Jesus, by trying to grab his white robes of purity and he will push them away off him and say away from me, don't come to me for I do not want you.

The close of probation is a terrible thing indeed. In the last days when his Church is threatened from within and without, he will be sending many away from him. After probation the remnant of his Church will tell people to please go away from Jesus, he doesn't want you anymore, because you didn't stand up for his truth.

At this point in time, the fear that comes in following the gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached before the end of probation. Generosity and love doesn't exist outside of the gates of his true Church, his remnant that stay true to him and completely divorce themselves from family and friends who side with the world against Jesus.

Yep. I believe the worst thing we can do to attempt to reach the lost is to try and condemn them to hell with our words...instead we should teach them of the Kingdom through our love and generosity...when we bring the good news through fear it doesn't sound very good...

The approach the current Pope is taking is the correct one, which is accompaniment. Jesus is a good example of this, as he was willing to be vulnerable in his interactions with others. Willing to throw out the cliches of his religion in order to have them be challenged by outsiders, and if somebody (such as the Syrophoenician woman), had a witty comeback, he acknowledged that. What we have is a more dynamic relationship than simply somebody with authority on high telling other people "timeless truths" as legal obligations that they must fulfill. This is why he contrasts mundane religion with the Spirit in the discussion with Nicodemus or the Samaritan woman at the well. The only people he really focuses his condemnation on, are those that reject his way of doing things altogether.

What is judgement??? A judge sometimes passes verdict (guilty/not guilty) but his main job is sentencing. That is why on judgement day Jesus is going to give us our verdict and sentincing... because he is the judge. When I steal something and you call me a thief - that is not judgement, that is an accurate observation! In 1 John 4 we are given a commandment to try every spirit, to be aware of the teachers who are speaking truth and those who are of a false doctrine. Just because someone is in the church building, doesn't make them "in the church" so try the spirits and be aware of who you are dealing with, you don't have any judgements to pass on them, but certainly "try" them.

We also should remember that in our dealings with people over various shortcomings/weaknesses, we must do so with our own in mind, not just past ones, but ones we may be currently struggling with. We must not hate nor condemn, but converse in a loving and relatable way. I mean, there is such a thing where fruit-inspecting can cross the line into finger-pointing. It is a bad habit we can all get into (yes, I'm guilty) if we're not careful. None of us are perfect, and never will be until the day we see Jesus face-to-face.
