No tithe does not mean a tenth of your first fruits. First the tithe was specific and often was more than 10%. The tithe was only specific items and was not money. It had to come from Israel and was for the Levites who had NO inheritance. You could also redeem it. Can you redeem your tithe from your pastor? Doubt it. Try it sometime. Tell them you want 200 dollars back redeemed, minus the 20% interest.

First fruit was that. There was a first fruit "offering", not a tithe, it was an offering and it could be a handful of grain.

This new year I decided that I want to tithe but I was wondering do I need to tithe every time I get pay or can I tithe once a month?
The Bible says to offer up your "first fruits." Therefore I would pay in advance each month or with each paycheck.

Well that is not from the bible, and notice it says "produce", they got that part right. But men added earnings.

Show me in the bible where Jesus "tithed" or any apostle "tithed" or took a tithe.

This definition is from a modern day dictionary so they give modern usages of the word. They don't decide if the clergy got it wrong or not, that's not their job.

Here's an OT example.
The farmer has 10 sheep. The first year only 9 give birth, he doesn't have a tenth so he pays no tithe. Now he has 19 sheep and they have 19 lambs. The 10th one that he counts is his tithe to the Lord. 19 + 18, he now has 37 sheep and they have 37 lambs. The 10th, the twentieth, and the thirtieth that he counts out is his tithe to the Lord.

Lev 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

Tithes could only be brought to the Temple and only be given to the Levites. Peter and Paul could not receive tithes. Peter was of the tribe of Judah and Paul of Benjamin.
Jews today do not pay tithes.

Luce.. this is NOT between YOU and US :) So ... you ask your Father. He will NEVER EVER make you feel guilty. And the word of God that says " God loves a cheerful giver"...what people leave out is the REST which of that same verse is "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

So.. there you go. YOU decided. And God is NEVER against you. Never ever ever pushes you to do anything He wants your heart. You dont have to give every time..you answer to HIM not man

Like many here have already said tithe when you can it's not mandatory. Tithing was for the Levitical priest and as far as I know we don't have any of those anymore. Because when Christ came he took over the priesthood as well as the the kingship.
The Lord Jesus did not continue the Levitical priesthood; the priesthood was changed; He is now a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek, and what the New Testament believer now has is better than the law. Hebrews 7.12; Hebrews 7.19.

The tithe was intended to support the Levite priesthood and the Temple and there is no Biblical indication that it applies to modern, ie. Christian, believers.

Deuteronomy 14:22-26 --- You shall surely tithe all the produce from what you sow, which comes out of the field every year. You shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always. If the distance is so great for you that you are not able to bring the tithe, since the place where the LORD your God chooses to set His name is too far away from you when the LORD your God blesses you, then you shall exchange it for money, and bind the money in your hand and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. You may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household.

Micah 6:6 With what shall I come before the Lord, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God.

Once a month is fine and you are allowed to tithe as much as you want. Since the job you do is of service to the lord he does not require you to spend your entire life's earnings for the tithe!

This quote is right. Tithing's not our doctrine. 2 Corinth. 9 is to us! I have an article called Denominational Downfalls that addresses this if you're interested. God bless!

Agree. Not out of compulsion, but you reap what you sow.
