What does it look like then? My daughter gets close 8,000 a year in grants.
Cool. That almost pays for one semester at the university I work at. It's still about $3,000 short of one full semester.

Ok now take out Pell grants, tuition assistance

What does it look like then? My daughter gets close 8,000 a year in grants.

Minimum wage was 3.35 an hour in 1984. That is equivalent to 7.77 an hour today.

http://www.in2013dollars.com/1984-dollars-in-2015?amount=3.35

But, It is averaging 8.10 today depending on state.

http://www.ncsl.org/research/labor-and-employment/state-minimum-wage-chart.aspx

so, at min wage, they are making more than we did way back when.

Medical coverage is zero because they are on their parents insurance.
Textbooks can be purchased online or in used book store.

The only major issue is tuition
553% up where wages have only gone up 241%.

So your conclusion is it is currently only twice as hard as it was in 1984?

Is this graph adjusted for inflation? I know that it doesn't look good even when adjusted.

If you track the minimum wage along with these costs, it's even more depressing - especially since minimum wage decreases if you adjust for inflation.

I do not know. The article did not mention though it did link to the data.

The rest of the Left leaning world liked Obama because he is an anti American Leftist disciple of Saul Alinskey with roots in Marxist Black Liberation Theology and Communist mentor Frank Marshal Davis, spoiled only child raised by socialist grandparents with a chip on his shoulder. The world feels an ideological kinship with Obama.
Do you think Canadians are far-left radicals? 'Cause that's the picture you're evidently trying to paint of Obama and his supporters.

Obama is a moderate liberal; his policies almost all have overwhelming public support.

No, not all Canadians. Some have common sense.

Not true, Obamas policies are deeply resented by a significant number of Americans.

Hogwash, I have children in college. They are doing the same. There's very little partying and weekends are long shifts, but they are doing it.

My middle daughter works full time nights at QuickTrip. She attends classes in the day, works overnights and sleeps mornings.

She is making 40k a year, has tuition reimbursement and to use her words. "No social life whatsoever". But when she graduates in 18 months she will be debt free with a job that should be paying 50k a year.

40K working the night shift at Quik Trip?

University tuition is free in Ireland and Finland.

The University of Toronto, which ranks 19th in the world (between Cornell and Duke), has a base tuition of $6,040 - and that's for 2 full semesters in Canadian dollars
  • $6,040 and up for tuition fees, depending on your program and campus
  • $1,185 and up for incidental and ancillary fees
  • $1,000 and up for books and supplies
  • $7,985 to $15,000 or more for residence, depending on where you choose to live, whether you purchase a meal plan, or buy and prepare your own food.

Do Blacks Vote Democrat to Get "Free Stuff"?

Speaking of "Free Stuff," many of America's largest corporations making $millions and $billion in profits in 2014 didn't pay any tax!

Of course they do. There is no hiding it. Percentage wise blacks are on welfare the most.
I mentioned in the OP that even rich and middle class blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat, and they're definitely not on welfare.

I'm still waiting for a single Republican to challenge any of these ignorant statements, by the way...

What part of "Yes, yes they do" was such a challenge?
