Do any catholics speak in tongues?

I heard of it decades ago through listening to and reading the Scriptures .

It is a charism of the Holy Spirit to be grateful for .

For me personally it is a help in my personal prayer .

agreed. i learned of it way back in the early 60's as part of a teaching series on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I was 12 years old at the time.

the gifts are available to everyone who is baptized.

no one has all the gifts save Christ,
but only the ones given to them by God.
that also doesn't mean that they have to acknowledge or use them.

that is the easiest question of all to answer.

if Colin had previously been baptized/received into the Catholic Church, then he was sealed at that time from his head to his feet, and all parts in between with holy oil.
sealed means that He is marked as belonging to Christ, and nothing else can get in. So the potential was there already.
it is for all Catholics who are likewise sealed in the Holy Spirit.

I am on about people who say that they receive the Holy Spirit when speaking in Tongues, not baptism.

Up to you people if you love the whole speaking in tongues movement. If it helps you then fair enough.

It is not for me as i cannot see any good coming from what i have seen so far. For me, it is dark and dangerous.

The video i linked to had some great points about why one should stay clear of speaking in tongues movement.

I am not saying that God does not allow speaking in tongues but seeing how these people react and fall about and shout in utterly indistinguishable language is very frightening and seems so Un-Godly!
