  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You just fit together random quotes from the ECFs in an order that suits Pretrib, and then magically present the ECFs as Pretribbers. The fact is: none of them were. You have presented nothing to support a rapture of the Church, followed by a 7 years trib followed by a 3rd coming, here or in Scripture. It wasn't invented until 1830.

Barnabas is an Amil, and teaches nothing about a future sin-cursed goat-infested death-blighted millennium.

The material previously posted in this thread conclusively proves that the first two of these articles are completely incorrect. And the third article has zero bearing on the question. For whether someone else did or did not misrepresent some facts has zero bearing on what I posted.

Did any of the earlier sources claim modern Jews would come to salvation outside of the Church?

The NT was written for future generations. It's salvation by the forgiveness of sins. Jesus is how God chose to forgive sin.

All we can tell them is that there is a testimony that better explains the absence of a high priest on earth then what they have been taught. The message of the gospels. "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

One might state, "I don't need Jesus as I can just ask God to forgive my sins"

One who knows their Lord would reply "Its not for you to choose how to forgive sin"

Those that GOD calls His children.
children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

So not saved outside of faith in Christ Jesus.

If any in the time of the end have even a shred of love/faith in God they will believe the signs given in Rev 11 and become members of the body of Christ. The last witness before the lie and destruction of the beast is allowed into the world. For God is a loving and just God. Those who take joy in the killing of Gods two witnesses will believe in the lie of the beast. For many false signs and wonders will be allowed to deceive the world into believing that lie. Those who love evil and refuse to repent and believe in Jesus.

I am really getting tired of the blatant dishonesty in the way you phrase this statement you keep making. You are dishonestly trying to make people people that dispensationalists teach that people can be saved without trusting in the Lord Jesus. This is intentional misrepresentation of what you know to be the facts. And that is the very definition of dishonesty.

But Dispensationalism believes the cross did not have to occur. Jesus came to set up a physical earthly kingdom, not die. That is heresy!

One of the greatest errors of the doctrine is the claim that God did not fulfill His promises to the Jewish people, through the sacrifice of His son at Calvary.

This claim is found below in the book "Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty", by Manuel Lacunza. Edward Irving translated the book into English, and presented doctrine from the book at the Albury Prophetic conferences in the U.K.

Many of the proponents of the doctrine do not want the recent history of the doctrine to be exposed.

It is not a statement.

"Did any of the earlier sources claim modern Jews would come to salvation outside of the Church?"

It is a question.

I totally agree. That alone would be enough evidence for a Bible believing Christian to run from it. The roots of it are in the Jesuits. Edward Irvine legitimized it and brought it to the Evangelical world. Your spot on. JN Darby then formalized it into A “Systematic theology.“

Something that troubles me is the idea that God has not yet fulfilled all the promises to Israel. As if God owed them something he does not.

If they heard and kept his judgements
Then God will keep his covenant of mercy he sware to their fathers.

De 7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

Furthermore God made two covenants with Abraham. The land covenant concerned the fourth generation of his seed Gen 15.

Fulfilled.....
1Ki 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

Covenant made in Genesis 17
God made the Abrahamic promises of the covenant made in circumcision CONDITIONAL, based upon them keeping all the law.

Chapter 16. Watchfulness; The Coming of the Lord
Watch for your life's sake. Let not your lamps be quenched, nor your loins unloosed; but be ready, for you know not the hour in which our Lord comes. Matthew 24:42 But often shall you come together, seeking the things which are befitting to your souls: for the whole time of your faith will not profit you, if you be not made perfect in the last time. For in the last days false prophets and corrupters shall be multiplied, and the sheep shall be turned into wolves, and love shall be turned into hate; Matthew 24:11-12 for when lawlessness increases, they shall hate and persecute and betray one another, Matthew 24:10 and then shall appear the world-deceiver as the Son of God, and shall do signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands, and he shall do iniquitous things which have never yet come to pass since the beginning. Then shall the creation of men come into the fire of trial, and many shall be made to stumble and shall perish; but they that endure in their faith shall be saved from under the curse itself. And then shall appear the signs of the truth; first, the sign of an outspreading in heaven; then the sign of the sound of the trumpet; and the third, the resurrection of the dead; yet not of all, but as it is said: The Lord shall come and all His saints with Him. Then shall the world see the Lord coming upon the clouds of heaven.

This is all nonsense. All the ECF were Posttrib. No one believed Pretrib error until it was invented by a Jesuit in the early 1800s. There’s no where in scripture that teaches a rapture of the church, followed by seven-year tribulation, followed by a third coming of Jesus.

Let us first consider whether or not these documents can be assigned to any modern system of doctrine.
.

With all due respect, you made at least three mistakes,
rather there are at least three mistakes in your post, some
were made by early church fathers.

For the sake of simplicity I will address them separately in
three different posts. So this is post #1 of #3

First, I am new to dispensentionalism and not aware of the
past teachings, but the writings you mentioned did not precede
the teachings of Jesus Christ which clearly NAMED three different
separate and distinct "Kingdoms of Heaven" on earth before the
establishment of the Eternal Kingdom - and suggested another
fourth "Kingdom of Heaven" existed.

(1) First, in Matthew 22:2-7 Jesus describes the (2nd) Jewish
"Kingdom of Heaven" which is DESTROYED [v7] and given
to another nation - which is clearly the Christian Kingdom
[v8-14]

Mat 22:2
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king,
which made a marriage for his son,

This example of Jesus NAMING the Jewish "Kingdom of Heaven"
is reinforced in Matthew 21:43-45 where the Lord explained the
Jewish Kingdom would be TAKEN from them and GIVEN to another
nation which would bring forth fruit. Notice (a) the Jews understood
the Lord was talking about THEM and (b) history, aka "reality" shows
the Christian "Kingdom" followed the Jewish "Kingdom"

Mat 21:43
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God
shall be TAKEN from you, and GIVEN to a nation bringing
forth the fruits thereof.

Mat 21:45
And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables,
they perceived that he spake of them.

(2) After the destruction of the Jewish "Kingdom of Heaven"
[Mat 22:7] and after the "Kingdom of God" was TAKEN from
the Jews and GIVEN to the Christians, Jesus then NAMES the
(3rd) Christian "Kingdom of Heaven" on earth in Matthew 13
(in 8 separate verses... and many other passages, I will only
show ONE verse to prove this point)

Mat 13:47
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net,
that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

(3) Before talking about the FOURTH "Kingdom of Heaven"
on earth I want to talk about the FIRST "Kingdom" which,
of course is shown in history ("reality") as the Pre-Flood
"Kingdom of Heaven" containing all the Saints from Adam
to Noah. While this is the ONLY "Kingdom of Heaven" not
specifically NAMED by Jesus... I hope no mature Christian
disputes the Pre-Flood Saints preceded the Jewish Saints.

(4) The last TEMPORAL "Kingdom of Heaven" on earth...
the "Kingdom" immediately preceding the Eternal "Kingdom"
was specifically NAMED by Jesus [Mat 25:1-13] as being the
(4th) Great Tribulation "Kingdom of Heaven".

Mat 25:1
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

This is normally the hardest "Kingdom" for Christians to accept
because we were always taught the Great Tribulation period was
PART (the ending) of the Christian "Kingdom". However, Jesus
specifically NAMED it as a separate and distinct "Kingdom" and
He specifically NAMED those included as being the "ten virgins",
which represent the LAST "wheat and tares" on earth.

These ten "virgins" are shown as ten "kings/horns" in BOTH
Daniel 7 AND Revelation 17 (and as ten "kings" in Dan 2:44)
in EACH case they are the people in the Fourth "Kingdom" on
earth which is also shown as the Revelation Beast.

I will write more about these ten "virgins/kings/horns" in another
message but I feel that right now I should explain the DIFFERENCE
between the four (4) TEMPORAL "Kingdoms of Heaven" on earth
and the one (1) ETERNAL "Kingdom of God".

(5) The (5th) Eternal "Kingdom of Heaven" is NAMED by Jesus
in Matthew chapters 5 and 7 and 8 and 19... and other places.
But I will skip over that "Kingdom" for now, except to say that,
unlike the previous "Kingdoms" it is (a) not TEMPORAL and
(b) contains no unsaved "tares".

This difference is important to understand because most people
incorrectly assume the two "Kingdoms" represent the same thing.
Most of that is ignorance of Scripture but some is the fact that they
can by used interchangeably IN SOME CASES.

--------------------------------------------------------

The phrase "Kingdom of Heaven" is used thirty-three (33)
times in the Bible and every time the phrase represents
the many unsaved "tares" and/or the few saved "wheat",
associated with preaching the "Word of the Kingdom"
(the Gospel) during one of the FOUR KINGDOMS on earth...
or it represents ONLY the saved "wheat" harvested into
the (5th) Eternal "Kingdom of Heaven".

-------------------------------------------------------------

The four "Kingdoms of Heaven" are physical and temporal
Kingdoms... and there's a "harvest" of Saints at the end of
each, with the "Final Harvest" including only the "Wise Virgins"
living during the (4th) Great Tribulation "Kingdom of Heaven"
[Mat 25:1]

---------------------------------------------------------

The phrase "Kingdom of God" is used seventy (70) times
in the Bible and every time it represents the Holy Spirit of God
and/or the souls (but not the bodies) of the saved "wheat"
who have been regenerated by His "indwelling" Holy Spirit.
To be clear, the "Kingdom of God" is a SUBSET of
the "Kingdom of Heaven" since it only includes the saved
"wheat", and none of the unsaved "tares".

---------------------------------

Therefore, the Bible can use the phrases interchangeably
when it focuses only on the "wheat" within the Kingdom.
When focused only on the "wheat", the Bible can use
"Kingdom of Heaven" OR "Kingdom of God". And that
is why we have several parallel passages in the Bible
that can (and do) interchange these two phrases.

“But when this Antichrist shall have devastated all things in this world, he will reign for three years and six months,

The Antichrist doe NOT rule for 3.5 years. This can be proven
by two different ways.

(1) First, the Bible PROMISED the truth about Daniel's prophecies
would remain "closed-up" and "sealed" to all Saint's until the
Last Saints "shall understand" at the "time-of-the-end"
[Dan 12:4 and 12:8-10] which is also shown as being the
"Season and Time" AFTER the fourth Beast is destroyed
[Dan 7:11-12]

Since all "interpretations" about the rule of the "Little Horn"
(or Antichrist) were developed hundreds of years ago...
we can know absolutely they are wrong because they
were developed during a time when the Bible PROMISED
the Truth would remain "sealed".

Either the "interpretations" are wrong or the Bible is wrong...
Obviously the Bible is not wrong.

(2) Secondly, the 3.5 "years" in which the Antichrist supposedly
rules is shown in MANY other passages... obviously such an
important event is not shown in one or two passages.
I am aware of about TWO DOZEN passages related
to this period. But I will only list a few that talk
about the 3.5 "years"... which is also shown
as 3.5 "watches of the night".
(more on that later)

(a) The "Woman" which was hidden from the face of the "serpent"
for 3.5 "times" [Rev 12]

(b) The "Holy People" whose "power is scattered" by the Anti-Christ
for 3.5 "times" [Dan 12]

(c) The "Kings" that are "given into his hand" [into the Anti-Christ's hand]
for 3.5 "times" [Dan 7]

(d) The "Witnesses" which are first "overcome" and are later "killed" by Satan
for 3.5 "days" [Rev 11]

(e) The "Holy City" which the Anti-Christ "treads under foot" for forty-two months
or 3.5 "years" [Rev 11]

(f) The "Ruler of the Last Saints" as the Anti-Christ "makes war" for forty-two months
or 3.5 "years" [Rev 13]

While I understand this is NEW INFORMATION for most, we must always keep Scripture
in the proper CONTEXT. And (a) the Bible says the "Season and Time" is the period AFTER
Daniel's Fourth Beast/Kingdom is "given to the Burning Flame" [Dan 7:11-12] which is the
SAME EVENT as the Revelation Beast being "cast alive into the Lake of Fire" [Rev 19:20]
AND (b) the Bible PROMISED the truth about Daniel's Prophecies (and the Antichrist) would
remain "closed-up" and "sealed" until the "time-of-the-end" [Dan 12:4 and 12:8-10] which
is the same period as the "Season and Time" AND (c) the PEOPLE living during this period
known as the "time-of-the-end" or the "Season and Time" are the LAST "wheat and tares"
on earth which are NAMED the ten "virgins" in the Great Tribulation "Kingdom of Heaven"
[Mat 25:1-13] or the ten "kings/horns" in both Daniel 7 AND Revelation 17 or the ten "kings"
of Daniel 2:44.

Make no mistake, any "interpretations" about Daniel's Fourth Beast (aka Revelation Beast)
could NEVER be true if they were developed during the time when the Bible PROMISES they
remain "closed-up" and "sealed" from all the Saints until the LAST Saints (the "wise virgins")
living during the period called the "time-of-the-end" or the "Season and Time" after the
Great Tribulation "Kingdom of Heaven".

I realize this is a hard truth to accept - I was raised learning the SAME eschatological theories
as most others (about Rome being the Fourth Kingdom of Daniel - which is just a LIE) but we
cannot pretend to have found Biblical Truth unless/until we have harmony of Scripture with all
of the information provided above... and much more that I have not revealed. In the next post
I will PROVE why Daniel's Fourth Beast was NOT Rome or any other physical/political Kingdom.
