That is not quite what you said before. Oral traditions may last a few hundred years, but not tens of thousands. That is expecting rather too much of our ancestors, I am afraid.
I don't have a problem with stories being passed on for generations, through interruptions of war and genocide, cultural proliferation etc. We are on a forum where we are discussing at least 6,000 years of historicity right? And the Hebrew alphabet only dates to about 1,000 BC.
There is a much bigger story inside the fragmented story of A & E.
