Dislike for Revealing clothes

I'm sure that if the apostles been now etc they would have mentioned the revealed. Why show the world what should belong to the spouses?
Or at least cover up before going out. Its not that it will bring any good thoughts..

I think it is largely a purity/disgust issue. I have a very high disgust threshold. Others do not. I wouldn't care if people walked around naked. But, consistent with your comment, there also is an element of authoritarian thinking going on here, with women's autonomy restricted and women blamed for men's feelings. There is one person on this thread that frightens me a bit. Believing you can't control yourself can be self fulfilling.

And what is truly disturbing about said poster is that they feel absolved of their thoughts because they feel it is the responsibility of the woman not to temp them. And as you said, not believing they are not in control of their thoughts and by extension their actions, what is stopping them from escalating to just giving into their basest inclinations and just taking what they feel they are entitled to because "she clearly wants it".

The “logic” is that I do not read into the text what was not there to begin with. Sometimes that leads to conclusions that make me rather uncomfortable.

One poster in this thread who does not feel the need to take responsibility for their lustful thoughts. I feel that is a dangerous line of thought and it blames women for their weakness.

One thing everyone in this whole discussion seems to be unaware of is that in 2nd Temple period Judea (where all the biblical NT authors grew up) was that it was women who were the aggressors for sex. Sex was a wife’s RIGHT and a husband’s responsibility; so much so that the marriage contracts that survived from the era all have minimum amounts of sex the wife was to receive. Often it was daily.

In the OT, there are a couple of passages that illustrate that. In one place it says if their husbands are fighting with someone, a wife is not supposed to grab the opponent’s genitals. (So what was she looking at?). And another in the prophets it talks about Judah going after strange gods like a woman going after a man with flesh (male member) and issue ([bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]) like a horse or donkey. HUGE.

So in the day, it seems like they were more concerned with women getting turned on by seeing male parts than the other way around.

Well I am a woman myself and this is off topic but I get tired of women playing the victim card. A lot of women have been lying these days and getting honest men in trouble for doing nothing to them. I don't believe people are asking for it when they dress sleezy but I certainly don't think it's smart to run around half naked and then and then act like oh poor me when they get harrassed. It's annoying. If you don't want excessive honking when you run dont run in a bra. If you don't want guys staring at your butt don't wear shorts wear it literally hangs out of your pants. If anything people are probably staring cause they are wondering what possessed the person to dress that way.

I was just walking with my boyfriend to a bus stop when that happened. Literally walking behind someone with see through leggings you don't have to be super close if their leggings are like painted on and white so everthings shows. My boyfriend made a comment like um she didn't look in the mirror and be like my whole butt and underwear shows wearing this maybe I should wear something else lol. To each is own though. I'm not sure if you think this is okay or not but it kinda sounds like you defend it, I guess though. I run as well by the way and I live where it gets 126 out i really never needed to dress in revealing clothes to run just a regular t-shirt and shorts. And we aren't talking about workout attire I'm talking about people that dress like they work the side of the corner just to go to Walmart lol.

Not really defending anything on account of how there is no need to. What you wrote in bold is what matters. I've seen folks in all sorts of attire out & about with my girlfriend. Can't imagine talking to her about some other lady's butt or caring a flip about leggings. Gracious. I've learned to not pay much attention to what folks are wearing at Walmart, go in, get what I came for, get out of there.

It gets to be 126 degrees where you live & folks are out running in that weather? Really?
