Dislike for Revealing clothes

With suggestions of self control causing such umbrage to be taken I would suggest a blindfold and cane while out in public.

If suggesting that men exercise self-control is controlling them, and attempting to dress in such a way as to control men's response (in any direction) is controlling them... precisely which option do women have for which men will not blame us?

put some stupid clothes on. the problem is they dont have any dress code, there is hardly any clothes in there dressing appeal.

They have on clothes, you just don't like them.

Blindfolding your self and using a cain to navigate settles the issue nicely. You are saved from having to control your self or having thoughts you find uncomfortable and others don't have to reorder their lives to accommodate you.

How much clothing will make you happy? Is covered but form fitting still going to be a problem? Does she need to be dressed in a full length, formless robe that hides everything? What is the dress code you demand so that you can feel safe with your own thoughts?

You would be surprised how little clothing is required to comply with indecent exposure laws. In my state it’s a thong for men and a g string with nipple covers (anything that is opaque and covers the nipple and areola) for women.

In some states, NY for example, the nipple covers are not required for women.

Yikes see like I dont get it some guy was mentioning in some states men with pants sagging can get in huge trouble I just think women should be treated the same no visible privates or underwear. In my state women wear shorts where their butt cheeks literally hang out like how is that okay.

What do you mean by indecent exposure? AFAIK indecent exposure isn't lawfully permitted in a lot of places. So your meaning of it probably differs quite a bit from how other folks see it. How do you think gals should dress when it's hot as stew out & they're working out? Going to the beach? What about fellows? Are you OK with us running without a shirt on?

Basically I dont like see through leggings where I can see someone's whole butt jiggling in my face. I don't like the cheeky shorts where half of the butt hangs out of the shorts. I don't like cleavage (and I used to do this until I realized I'm violating other people putting my boobs up in front of people making them feel awkward and uncomfortable.) I had a professor tell me once to pull up my shirt. And with guys there's less out there cause your anatomy is mostly below the belt but I don't really like the running with out a shirt thing. It's not that bad but I feel like a guy could put in a muscle shirt or something. Like I really don't need you running around without a shirt making me feel awkward for being near a naked guy. Idk maybe this is more of a social anxiety issue so I guess regular people don't get how it's awkward.

I think you're correct that it's your social anxiety issue. It may be awkward for you but it's not for most folks. I run every day. See folks in all sorts of attire. Since I live where it feels like stew for a long part of the year, hot & humid as heck, it's common for fellows to run without a shirt. For ladies to run in sports bras, short shorts. Young, old, in shape shape or out. I think you're taking the way other folks dress way too personally. It's not all about you.

I think it's a question of who your audience is. I'm not against modesty and I'm a pretty modest dresser, myself; but if someone has a problem with how other people dress, you can't expect the whole world to adhere to your personal modesty code. You have to learn to deal with diversity, on this as with anything else.

Collectivists focus more on the good of society, traditional morality, the community as a whole

Individualists focus more on the rights of the individuals, autonomy, freedom of expression

Of course no one is 100% one or the other, these are the two poles that people exist between on a spectrum

I think it is largely a purity/disgust issue. I have a very high disgust threshold. Others do not. I wouldn't care if people walked around naked. But, consistent with your comment, there also is an element of authoritarian thinking going on here, with women's autonomy restricted and women blamed for men's feelings. There is one person on this thread that frightens me a bit. Believing you can't control yourself can be self fulfilling.

I was just walking with my boyfriend to a bus stop when that happened. Literally walking behind someone with see through leggings you don't have to be super close if their leggings are like painted on and white so everthings shows. My boyfriend made a comment like um she didn't look in the mirror and be like my whole butt and underwear shows wearing this maybe I should wear something else lol. To each is own though. I'm not sure if you think this is okay or not but it kinda sounds like you defend it, I guess though. I run as well by the way and I live where it gets 126 out i really never needed to dress in revealing clothes to run just a regular t-shirt and shorts. And we aren't talking about workout attire I'm talking about people that dress like they work the side of the corner just to go to Walmart lol.
