Have you been living under a rock? Surely you don't come to the creationist forum looking for logic. They probably did not, and why would that matter? Your logic is lacking again.
I'm trying to find some statistics on the proportion of Christians who accept evolution, but not having much luck. The best I can find is this Wikipedia article:
Acceptance of evolution by religious groups
It lists these denominations as holding the view of theistic evolution:
Catholic Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Episcopal Church USA, and some other mainline Protestant denominations
Religious Differences on the Question of Evolution (United States, 2007)
Percentage who agree that evolution is the best explanation for the origin of human life on earth
Source: Pew Forum[12]
Buddhist 81%
Hindu 80%
Jewish 77%
Unaffiliated 72%
Catholic 58%
Orthodox 54%
Mainline Protestant 51%
Muslim 45%
Hist. Black Protest. 38%
Evang. Protestant 24%
Mormon 22%
Jehovah's Witnesses 8%
Total U.S. population 48%
Anyone got any better statistics, perhaps for Christianity worldwide. And also I'm pretty sure there are more denominations than the ones listed who officially accept evolution such as Anglican and Orthodox.
Oh my, another Christian that is deep in denial.Hmmm, I'm happy to shout you some $ if you need some chill pills...
Have you been living under a rock? Surely you don't come to the creationist forum looking for logic.
I know. I imagine myself to be one of those. Although others don't always think my logic is logical.Believe it or not, not all Christians deny logic and reality.
It would be interesting to compare other countries as in my experience American Christians seem to be more skewed toward creationism than here in Australia
Cool. Do you have any results you could share? What I've had to do was get a bunch of different stats and add them together. I don't think there is one with all the info. But a lot of countries that are the majority Christian (with or without separation of church and state) have evolution as mandatory in public schools. Then you can go to different denominations and see what their stance is regarding evolution and what their members think. There are over 41,000 denominations. The Catholic church has half the world's Christians belonging to it and they accept evolution. Then you have to go country by country. But even in the U.S. more Catholics accept evolution than not.
Oh my, another Christian that is deep in denial.
No I'm not
I don't have a rash. You appeared to be, but perhaps I jumped to a rash conclusion.
Oh so he really did believe in God!
Do you think Hitler would have made chancellor, or Kaiser, or whatever it was he was running for if he had introduced himself as an atheist?
When in Rome ...
And who did I say prompted the sequel? So is linking Mein Kampf to Origin of Species.
And who did I say prompted the sequel?
Did I not say it was the Devil?
Our enemy.
So it should be offensive, shouldn't it?
Yes, but I'm just as entitled to my opinion as you are.Does this in any way make sense to you?
You're not leaving, are you?Thank you all again for all the information and opinions you've provided.
Some call him "Yahweh".
I think @AV1611VET is immune to being taken seriously. It is silly to draw that connection and want to be taken seriously.
Nope, try again. In order to get "Yahweh" you MUST add to what Scripture states as YHWH, the unique name for Jesus, in the O.T.
