Did Paul consider himself a "sinner", are we supposed to think of ourselves as sinners...?

@SBC So, there was a time when you did sin, and now (you claim) you don't...

Well, who are you to judge another's time...? Especially with all the innumerable and different factors (from yours) in an individual life... Isn't it only God alone that can do that, or not...?

Excellent!

Then we are part from the discussion in agreement;

I am born of God, and can not sin, according to Scripture and Gods Word.
You are born of God, but continue to sin, according to your word and another mans word, who is a commentator.

God Bless,

Then what was the point of the verse?

You asked: "Does a Slave have the ability to choose for himself?

And I said: We never lose our free will.

2 Timothy 2:
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Do we cleanse ourselves, or is that a work of God in us, and he does the cleansing...?

"Cleanses himself" just strikes me wrong, cause I know I can't cleanse myself, but a work of God's Holy Spirit in me is cleansing me, so that it is God that does and is doing it in my case, cause I can't do it by my own efforts or works...

God Bless!

The blood of Jesus forgive all our sins and save us from death. However, just because we have accepted Jesus as our savior it does not mean that we don't sin anymore, we do and that ma, and these sins affect our relationship with God, when we Christians ask for forgiveness it is not to be saved again but to clean our relationship with God.

If we sin ( and all of us do) then we are sinners, we just not

Was it your free will to give your life to God?
Did you know you were choosing to crucify that old body of sin with Christ?
Did you know you would be living your life In Christ's pure body?
Did you know your old body would be dead to sin?
Did you know your old body was forgiven, washed in Jesus' BLOOD, covered, anointed, sanctified, saved and kept with Christ?
Did you know the Spirit of God would dwell in you?
Did you know God would quicken you, give you a new life, with His Seed?
Did you know having Gods Seed, would birth you a new spirit?
Did you know your old body is dead, and your new spirit is forever alive?
Did you know Dead body's do not sin?
Did you know YOU CAN NOT SIN, having a DEAD BODY, AND spiritual Birth by Gods Seed?

If yes to these questions, then why do you testify, your old body testifies of you NOW?

God Bless,
SBC

Are you talking to me? When did my old body testify of me now? You are not making any sense again.

It is up to us to repent and turn away from the sin and turn toward God. We are responsible for that choice. But it is Christ's blood that does the cleansing.

Colossians 3:5-6 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Isaiah 64:6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.

Proverbs 28:13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.

Hosea 5:15 Then I will return to my place until they admit their guilt and turn to me. For as soon as trouble comes, they will earnestly search for me.”

1 John 1:7-9 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Its about time! I'm proud of you! Even if I don't agree with your understanding of those scriptures, at least they are not just your opinions.

I apologize for my asking questions, but you are using a different Bible than I am, and I need the definition of the words your Translation is using in order for me to fully understand what it is you are attempting to say.

Soooooo if you will, what is your definition of Latter?

Not at all anymore...?

Correct.

What happens if you do...?

I don't.

Did that happen overnight...?

No. Actually It was while I was awake. ;)

I think perhaps you are wondering about the specific things.....
lying, stealing, coveting, etc. No, I do not do those things. Did them "sum-what" before I was born again....take a pen by figuring it was free, because it had advertising on it, or said I was doing fine, when someone asked how I was doing, when I felt crummy. Stuff like that. Specific to that, if I see a pen I think might be free, I ask. If someone asks how I'm doing, and it could be better, I say, could be better. I prefer to speak of what I have done, opposed to what I will do, since that real quick can turn out to be a lie, if you can't do what you said you will do. My kids use to say to me....can I, can we, can you....and I would say, say yes, say no, or gee, that sounds good, I wonder IF we can.....Whelp, now we were all wondering IF, and they had no promise or maybe to dwell on, and lose trust in me if it didn't happen.

I am my kids example, whom they see, know, love and trust. If I do not SHOW them I am trustworthy, How can they then have learned to know, love and trust the Lord, whom they have never seen? That is my way of thinking.

I sin no more, Because I am born of God.

God Bless,
SBC

God Bless!

It's a double action occurring.

One action by the man - confessing his sins - while knowing he is submitting to be cleansed.

The other action by Christ - who does the cleansing.

1 John 1
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What is it about Cannot commit sin, or Not at all anymore that you don't understand, that you would ask, "What happens if you do...?"

Cannot and Anymore are the operative words.

Now, when did it happen?

Were you Baptized, that is the when.

Rom 6:4-7
4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.

People can judge. And people shall be judged by thee same measure they judge.

Luke 7

LOL your funny....Really good at twisting someones words..... but in a funny way.

I didn't twist your words. You quoted a commentator, you said you agree with the commentary, you said you sin.

So, how is it a twisting of your words or a dig, to you, for me to, like you know, read the commentator's words, read your agreement with the commentators words, read your own words claim of sinning, and acknowledge what you claimed!

sheesh!

So...No........ You and I disagree, totally, on this subject.

Well, it is obvious you agreed with the commentary and your own words, and I agree with my own words, and our words do not match in agreement, ON THE SUBJECT.

I can agree to disagree..... You, on the other hand have to end with a dig, stating that my argument is "according to my word and another man's word"

Puzzled, how you think that is a dig.

I found this, below, from the webpage: Can a true Christian sin or not? | Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry

It pretty much sums it up for what I believe...So, instead of trying to explain it myself....here is the meat of it....

You, my friend, ignore the scripture that contradicts your ideals.....You cherry pick so you can present yourself as correct.

Friend - I get to cherry pick WHAT DOES apply to me.
Because NOT ALL Scripture DOES apply to me.
Why would I NOT want to present myself as correct?

I happen to believe, "my ideals" are in agreement with the Lord.

So what Scripture CONTRADICTS, a man born of God, continues to sin?

I am only trying to say that I believe what I believe for the reasons I believe it as is written in the Holy Bible.

I acknowledged what you said you believe, and why.

AND, you believe what you believe for the reasons you believe it as it is written in the Holy Bible....

So.... let's not insult....OK?

OK. Was that just a insult to me, you saying what I believe and why? ;)
Cuz, I just see it as acknowledging, as I did to you.

Peace..... Out.

Ditto.
God Bless,
