Brother, happy Sabbath!Brother, you can certainly love more, as Jesus has shown by surpassing the demands of three of the commandments in the new covenant and adding the Eleventh Commandment, but the Ten Commandments were the minimum love God wanted us to show under the slower cycle of forgiveness with animal sacrifices compared to Jesus' greater demand under His faster cycle of forgiveness as our High Priest. We are not automatically forgiven by the death of Jesus, we are forgiven when we turn to Jesus as our High Priest to "intercede" for us. Repeated is this cycle until separated is all sins from our character. This cycle after Jesus is faster and eternal compared to animal sacrifices, which clearly showed the repetition until removed is all sin from us.
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever. (Hebrews 7:25-28 NIV)
United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge
I think the entire law of Moses was the minimum standard for showing our love to other people, things like returning your neighbor's livestock and whatnot.
United in loving one another!
