If you want us to answer your question (singular) then it is high time you answer our questions (plural).

Yea, it happens. I had a good delima about riding on the clouds pages ago. Both of them of course skipped it even though I asked several times. So much for an imperative for believing the truth. I gave up on this thread since dogma and personal doctrine is taking the place of actually dealing with the issues. I encourage you to move on too.

it's not a hard question to answer.

Jesus made himself nothing for our account. He separated himself from his glory to become man. He remained God, but he made himself, by his own violition, less than what he was. (quite obviously, as he was eternal, and took on a mortal form, fully God, fully man.)

God gave him Glory. He was glorified for his sacrifice (not only that of dying on the cross.. but for coming in the first place.)
Thanks for answering....

Is it derived from what is obvious to you? Must one first accept His divinity to conclude that?

Thank you for your brave answer... unlike one of our friend here....

I have the same observation with Gary....

"Must one first accept His divinity to conclude that? "

You said "God gave him glory".... oh!! I thought he was the God?

obvious to me? yes and no. One would have to study the scriptures that evidence his divinity to conclude that. If you are unable to do so, it won't make much sense.

he is. And God yet gave him glory.

one thing non-trinitarians have a real problem with is the three distinct persons in the Godhead. God (the father) gave him, Jesus, (God the Son) Glory. Because Jesus, God the son, had laid down his Glory for our sake. Hebrews chapter 2 gives good explaination of this process.

So you're saying that to come to the conclusion that Christ is God, one needs to study scripture for evidence, then it becomes obvious?

Then you say that if you are unable to do so it won't much sense.

I'm not sure what you mean. Unable to do what?

if you study the scriptures that point to the divinity of Christ, Christ as God makes sense.
Oh I see... Yes, I have studied the scriptures, and continue to do so, but so far I have found no scripture that points to His divinity. So you are correct, for me Christ as God makes no sense.

If you are unable to puzzle out those passages as indicating his divinity, the argument of Christ as God will make no sense.
If you are refurring to the passages that have already been debated in this thread as text proof for His divinity, they are not a puzzle to me. I've just not come to the same conclusion that mainstream Christianity alludes to.

Fair enough... although I'm not sure how you can't find it. Specifically John 1... or the I AM portion.

I won't fight with you about it.

I would say that Matthew 3 lends some evidence to the divinity of Christ. When Jesus is baptized there is a light and a voice saying with whom I am well pleased. That seems suggestive of divinity.

Also in Matthew 8 two demons recognize Jesus as the "Son of God", they would know Jesus because they had seen him in Heaven before the fall of Satan and his Angels.

Can't see that myself, He was pleased with His son, not Himself... That's my view.

He is the Son of God.

According to the Word of God, the living God that Christ-followers, children of the Most High God, adhere to, Jesus the Christ, the only begotten Son of the living God, is indeed the epitome of divinity, for as He said Himself, in seeing Him we see God. It is clear. It is written. Of course there are those, such as Satan, His enemy that will attempt to distort it. He always has. Since the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, He has.

I believe Satan has done more than just attemp to distort it.

Okay I am a fan of Matthew 28:18 where Jesus says "And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.'" (ESV).
God has all authority in the universe and here Jesus claims it has been given to him.

Also Check out Colossians 1 starting at v 15, it talks about the Preeminence of Christ.

If this is a debate, it is one where one side uses logic and the other goes, 'No, I am using the logic here'. Please.

Actually, it's your problem...having to defined God as three distinct persons.....
