Did Jesus claim Divinity?

(Mat 9:4 LITV) And seeing their thoughts, Jesus said, Why do you think evil in your hearts?
(Mat 9:5 LITV) For what is easier, to say, Your sins are remitted, or to say, Rise up and walk?
(Mat 9:6 LITV) But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to remit sins, then He said to the paralytic, Rising up, lift up your cot and go to your house.
(Mat 9:7 LITV) And rising up, he went away to his house.
(Mat 9:8 LITV) And seeing, the crowds marveled, and they glorified God, the One giving such authority to men.


Well, they recognized that only God can give such authority to men.... no claim that Jesus is God himself.... got it again????

I know that wasn't directed to me, but I don't understand what you're getting at; what does that have to do with anything? Is that come kind of proof that Mathetes is wrong?

He did claim to be God. or they would not have hung him on a tree. they had him killed because they thought he had committed blasphemy. he said he was the Son of God they knew exactally what he meant, he said I and my Father are one. he also said that before the heavens and the earth were created I AM. he didn't need to be any clearer than that. his name Yeshua, means YHWV saves. his disciples knew that he was the Messiah, and he told them not to tell anyone, until after his death. the Messiah had to be God

whatever....but the point was that, as asked in the OP, Jesus did claim to be God. the discussion isnt whether God had a beginning or end, but whether Jesus claimed divinity.

yes its a bit interesting, i guess, but can we stay on the original topic of whether or not Jesus claimed divinity? maybe we could have a differnt thread for the other one. this is how people get so off track and never end up hitting the same ball over the net for long.

As for did Jesus claim to be God... if you go back in the thread will will see that my opinion is no...

I truely believed that traditional Christainty is deceived by Satan...
