What benefit or detriment is there to the life of Abraham in knowing or not knowing?Did Abraham know the name YHWH?
What benefit or detriment is there to the life of Abraham in knowing or not knowing?
According to Jesus, Abraham saw his day and was glad. Thus the Legacy was eventually revealed to him, if not the Name.
But I would argue, for Abraham to offer Isaac, requires a level of darkness. Like the old adage tells us, God uses wicked people for good ends.
I just told you. In not knowing, God used his then view of God to create a shadow of Christ, of the Father sacrificing the Son. I think it's a safe bet that this darkness was lifted from him, as God does not require human sacrifice, and actually completely abhors it, with a complete eradication of the people who do so.The question was:
What benefit or detriment is there to the life of Abraham in knowing or not knowing?
Nothing. So, did Abraham know the name YHWH?What benefit or detriment is there to the life of Abraham in knowing or not knowing?
Not a clue and for me personally it would be a waste of my time trying to figure out something that has no benefit.Nothing. So, did Abraham know the name YHWH?
I.e., no benefit to you. Are you saying that if something is of no benefit to you, you will not spend time on it?Not a clue and for me personally it would be a waste of my time trying to figure out something that has no benefit.
What benefit or detriment is there to the life of Abraham in knowing or not knowing?
I then stated.Nothing. So, did Abraham know the name YHWH?
Not a clue and for me personally it would be a waste of my time trying to figure out something that has no benefit.
If the exercise is of no benefit nor detriment. It is useless knowledge. Similar to wondering what size shoe Abraham wore.I.e., no benefit to you. Are you saying that if something is of no benefit to you, you will not spend time on it?
That was not my query. My question is this: Are you saying that if something is of no benefit to you, you will not spend time on it?Then you queried

Here is the answer to your query precisely as requested. That was not my query. My question is this: Are you saying that if something is of no benefit to you, you will not spend time on it?
This is the second time I have asked. Can you answer a query precisely? I prefer to interact with people who can think and write precisely.
Are you familiar with First-Order Logic and its formal precision? As an adjunct Instructor in International BIble Schools, my focus is line upon line verse by verse Theology mixed with practical applications in daily life.
I have answered your query precisely as requested. - have a great day.Are you familiar with First-Order Logic and its formal precision?
Let proposition P1 = If something is of no benefit to you, you will not spend time on it.
Is P1 true? This is the 3rd and the last time I have asked.
That literally means - If it has no benefit - I will not waste (spend) my time on it.Here is the answer to your query precisely as requested.
If something has no benefit, whether in the affirmative or pejorative then it is a complete waste of time.
I do hope that answers your query.
That is the reason if it is of no benefit I will not waste my time on it. PersonallyAs an aside to your query.
Personally I focus on what deepens my relationship with Christ. Will what I am studying deepen my relationship or correct me.
That is the reason why if it is of no benefit I will not waste my time on it. PastorallyAs a Pastor, I focus on what help my congregation in their walk with Christ and what equips them to reach the lost.
That is the reason why if it is of no benefit I will not waste my time on it. ProfessionallyAs an adjunct Instructor in International Bible Schools, my focus is line upon line verse by verse Theology mixed with practical applications in daily life.
And my final stand point on the issue becauseI was hoping to learn something from the OP, thinking perhaps there is some type of importance in the original question.
Perhaps bolding can help illustrate for you - if it is of no benefit I will not waste my time on it.There is none and for me it then becomes a complete waste of time
See How to pronounce YHWH and follow up thereAs you may come across - the correct pronunciation of YHWH is Yahuah.
