Energy companies?, no....but they don't really care one way or the other because from a lobbying and financial perspective, they've got their bases covered no matter who wins.

It's certainly a big number (estimates are that he spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $260 million between direct contributions and PACs)

But, in proportion, that's not a huge number in comparison to his net worth.

He's got an estimated net worth of $400 Billion.


To put that in perspective, that's like a "normal person" spending about $50.

For a spiteful person (which I assume Musk is a bit that way, he spent even more buying an entire social media platform to smite his political enemies), spending $50 to make all of your political opponents cry would be a drop in the bucket.
