Jindal is a devout Catholic from what I've been able to find, and well before running for national office. I believe it's out of line for you to question the sincerity of his faith, especially when it has no bearing on the issues.
Fyi, I'm not a Jindal supporter, I'm with Hillary or Bernie. But that was just too low a blow to leave unchallenged.
I used to challenge that, until the people who espouse such things became caricatures for saying it. Now it's more helpful to know how unreasonable someone is and that's a great indicator, along with birther stuff. You know, you may be right.
On the other hand, Barack Obama is, according to everyone who knows him, a Christian.
On this board it's de rigueur to make the claim that he's a secret Muslim (as if there is something wrong with being Muslim in the first place)
and I've never seen anyone go after anyone who makes this claim with a sense of righteousness that is somehow inappropriate.
Some posters (like this Charlie of whom people speak) might actually care about being challenged for a "low blow" on a politician.
But as for me, looking up and looking around on this forum, I don't think there is too low a blow.
Sorry
One chooses one's style. When your style is birther and questioning of someone's faith, you exclude many (most) of the posters from taking you seriously. That's fine. You are certainly free to do that. As you say, many folks do.You know, you may be right.

I posted it because one of the candidates is openly a socialist.Off topic?
In the same sense that the CC uses as unacceptable?I posted it because one of the candidates is openly a socialist.
I can't take seriously people (especially women) who "would love to see" a wife publicly dragged over the coals, in a live debate, with a question about her husband's bad behavior that happened almost twenty years ago. What kind of person takes pleasure in that kind of thing? And yet in one of these debate threads two people expressed that desire. Where does that kind of spite come from? One chooses one's style. When your style is birther and questioning of someone's faith, you exclude many (most) of the posters from taking you seriously. That's fine. You are certainly free to do that. The quote I posted is from the Catholic Church. So I don't know what you mean.In the same sense that the CC uses as unacceptable?
When Bernie Sanders describes himself as a "socialist", does he mean that he supports what the Catholic Church defines as "Socialism" or is it something else, but with a similar name. The quote I posted is from the Catholic Church. So I don't know what you mean.

Liberals don't want to help others. They want to confiscate wealth and use it to buy votes to increase their power base. They don't need higher taxes to help the poor. They can simply write a check. Of course, the best thing you can give a poor person is a job and a way to get ahead in life, but that doesn't fit the agenda of keeping a permanent underclass or people dependent on government.
The main reason why socialism is condemned by the Church is because it is inherently atheistic. Is Bernie Sanders an atheist? When Bernie Sanders describes himself as a "socialist", does he mean that he supports what the Catholic Church defines as "Socialism" or is it something else, but with a similar name.
Yeshua, it's appears to me, believes it is a human right to have medical care.Would you say that universal access to healthcare without regard to one's ability to pay is a socialist idea? I ask because I've routinely heard it referred to as socialist while Pope Benedict said that it was a human right.
I thought he had said he was but when I watched his interview at Liberty college when they asked what could they pray for, in regards to him, he asked that they pray for our country. He bowed his head and after the prayer he thanked them for their prayers. So I don't know for sure. God works in peoples hearts, I leave that up to Him.The main reason why socialism is condemned by the Church is because it is inherently atheistic. Is Bernie Sanders an atheist?
Liberty University is a Christian college. So it doesn't prove anything that he did that there since it was politically advantageous. Obama did something similar during his election campaign. I think it may have won him some of the evangelical votes. But after becoming president he immediately began with policies that aggressively attempt to force Christians to compromise our faith and morals. Politicians often play to the audience that is in front of them in order to win votes. His words and actions before and after visiting Liberty University are what we should be looking at to know the real Bernie Sanders.Yeshua, it's appears to me, believes it is a human right to have medical care.

He's a JewThe main reason why socialism is condemned by the Church is because it is inherently atheistic. Is Bernie Sanders an atheist?
Lots of Jews are atheists. He's a Jew
He identifies as a Jew. I've never heard him identify as an atheist.Lots of Jews are atheists.
Who's telling them to get a job?Well, seniors that have served their country and worked for the benefits they get do not need to be told to get a job!
Compassionate people do not condemn others to a life of poverty so they can solidify a voting block. Compassionate people do not try to scare others with made up tales of things that will happen to them if they don't vote Democrat. It amazes me more and more everyday the lack of compassion I see from so many people!
I'm one of them.A lot of people are working and a lot more than 40 hours a week.
Ahh, this old boogeyman again. Ask yourself this. Not to mention all the subsidies oil companies get
Again, you're being lied to.Or tax refunds for Corporations that don't even pay taxes but God forbid to ask them to pay taxes and just let the middle class support them, too.
This is easily done. Simply have networks give free air time, magazines give free advertising space and newspapers devote entire sections to the candidates so they never have to buy advertising. That way we could ALL run for president. Doesn't that make more sense? Of course, you'd have to ask the media outlets to work without pay and the ballots would be a thousand pages long, but that's a small price to pay to deny those who wish to donate their right to do so.For sure get money out of politics on BOTH sides where candidates would not owe special favors.
He would if he could get it, but since he's a socialist with no chance of winning he isn't going to get any.Bernie Sanders does not accept super pac money
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The main reason why socialism is condemned by the Church is because it is inherently atheistic.
