Perhaps the Republicans' plan to cause a government shutdown by vetoing $528 million for Planned Parenthood would gain more credibility if it contained additional funds for WIC, Medicaid, education, and the other expenses that the increased population would bring.

But oh darn! Those things are all part of a long laundry list of items that Congress wants to underfund, too!

Guess that's what happens when people who call themselves pro-life duck for cover when all those inconvenient truths emerge from the womb nine months later.

Obama assures Planned Parenthood that they still got friends in high places.
Of course he does.
This is why PPF can break laws and not even so much as sweat it.

Let's give those babies a chance to endure, overcome those hardships rather than killing them so we don't have to worry about it.

Well, here is the conundrum:

- Democrats fund non-abortion related programs at Planned Parenthood. Because abortion is not funded, no babies, pre-born or born, are killed.

- Republicans defund Planned Parenthood--callous to the consequences. They're certainly not in favor of giving the babies "a chance to endure."

So what's worse? Democrats, who wants babies to endure but is denying them "the chance to be conceived?" (As long as that is also the wish of the couples involved.)

Or Republicans, who want every baby to have "a chance to be conceived" but want to deny them the assistance required to endure?

If and when Obama vetoes any bill that de-funds PP, the question arises of what the next step might be.
Ron Paul for one would not take it to the next level, and hold up all funding until Obama defers. But the Republican party has never been a monolith on matters that are near and dear to them.

The issue of the unborn is near and dear to the Republican party. It is the issue that gets bigger and bigger for them with each passing year. There are many Republicans that are very emotional on the issue now, and think with their hearts rather than their heads when it comes to the disgusting way in which the unborn are being desecrated by PP and Obama's Democrats.

let me just say one thing in reply.....
some of us have learned how to weather the kind of economical storm that the folks in DC like to use as scare tactics.
We've seen it before, we're prepared, and we're not gonna be scared that way again.

Our money doesn't come from DC it comes from God, and He is fully able to sustain us in any storm!

The one principle that Democrats stand for is the right to kill the unborn. They are willing to shut down government to ensure that PP funding is a part of the budget, because this is the one principle that Democrats will never negotiate on.
When it comes to popular public opinion who decide the outcome of such wars, the media is the message. The public will receive the message from a Democratic point of view, because the media is run by Democrats.
It is great that God receives the credit for any victories, but when the outcome is defeat, Republicans will go back to being seen as the party of the stupid.

I fully support Republicans and the authentic Christians who are the base of Republicanism in America today. It is not a question of God not being on the side of the unborn and those who speak for them. It is a question of what is the smart way to fight this battle, when the lines of battle have been drawn the way they are.

PPis a shameless, immoral cabal who's chickens have come home to roost.

Great work from the pro-life heroes who painstakingly got the dollar hungry fascists to reveal the evil of their profiteering on killing unborn babies...

the one thing that you seem to have forgotten in this scenario is that God never gives gifts that He doesn't also make provision for.

Silvio - teens are being allowed to be used as sex trafficked objects by PPF.
Children abused by adults are being allowed and hidden by PPF.
And now even the babies who survive abortion - are having their bodies torn apart for fetal tissue sales.
And the description one woman gave about how they preserve said fetal tissue is by using the partial birth abortion method to ensure it is intact.

Disgusting is an understatement.
Obama is defending them - and even attacking those who uncovered these atrocities.

or if they were to believe that life...all life...is important.

by bringing the bishops into the argument it emphasizes the fact that once again this is not just a Republicans versus Democrats argument,
but one part of an endless plot with the goal to coerce people to eradicate human life wherever in the world it is found.
that is the true goal here; the re-sale of human organs is just the tip of the iceberg.
7 billion people on the planet, and growing. Whatever nebulous evil conspiracy has that as a goal seems pretty ineffective.

Now put that figure up against the "one child per family plan" in China, which not only affects today's families, but even the possibility of having a marriage or a family for the next generation and beyond, as the number of children is reduced.

Put the abortion figure up against the continuing downward spiral of stagnation of births in Europe, Scandinavia, the U. S.and in Russia where the same problem of being able to marry and have children will be reduced in each succeeding generation.

Put the abortion figure up against the campaign for same sex marriage that is crossing the globe, add in the acceptance of birth control, the 'morning after' pill, and continued abortion numbers, and see if that doesn't also lead to a decrease in the population.

every one of these above programs is directed against children with the goal of devaluing them and each succeeding generation after them.

Then you will have a much better grasp of the whole problem, and not just one slice.
the fight against abortion is just one part of the whole 'Me, Myself, and I first" syndrome,
and the " Only I Count" rotten pies with which the world is being flooded these days.

the whole point here is that the original plan was for the world's population to grow and prosper, or at least to maintain itself.
But with the advent of the programs i mentioned above, this is not only not happening,
but the population figures in a number of different countries across the globe are in active decline.

If that decline persists for any reason past the tipping point of 1:1, then we have a problem
that only an increasing birth rate over several generations can solve.

If you really want to see what such a tipping point can produce, then all that is necessary is a study of what happened in Europe after the plagues hit.
