  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Even with the DNC and HRC campaign bought Trump dossier from the Russians, the election turned out as expected. Hillary was not a very good candidate for POTUS. I think even President Obama realized this.

Again, that is the only evidence we do have of a political party 'colluding' with foreign entities to sway the election...the Trump dossier.

"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing."

Russians hacked DNC servers within 5 hours.

Which was originally commissioned by a Conservative website, the Washington free Beacon, from Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS subcontracted the investigative work to Steele. When Washington Free Beacon backed out of the deal, Fusion GPS sold the idea to the DNC, but when Trump was elected, they backed out, too, and Fusion GPS paid for the completion of the dossier themselves. In the meantime, Steels also passed the information to US and British intelligence.

Is the Russian Ambassador (Kislyak) part of the Russian government? Did Sessions meet with Kislyak twice in the timeframe he was asked about? Did Sessions give an unequivocal "No" in his response to having contacts with "any member of the Russian government"?
You mean the difference between a sitting US senator visiting the Russian ambassador and someone discussing campaign strategies? I think Sessions answered this question within the proper context several times.

And if Trump were in any other position besides president, he'd be in jail right now.

Which is why his disciples will fight tooth and nail to keep him as president.

We would only be able to prove this assertion if the DNC turned their servers over to the FBI. They did not.

Hillary Clinton violating US Code on the handling and distribution of classified materials proves this to not be the case.

It's quite defensible as Sessions did so. Remember back then the definition of "collusion" was any contact with "the Russians." Sessions may have also passed by two Russians playing chess on a walk through the Mall in DC.

I agree they both have gotten away with crimes that would put normal Americans like you and I in the slammer for a long time.

Yes, yes... but hating the Democrats is what spurred Donald's ascension in the first place...

To me the dossier by it's self doesn't actually qualify as evidence either way. I study semantics, so to me the intent of framing a narrative of colluding with Russians because Russians were paid by Hillary to get information on Trump, is contradicted by the overall consensus that the Russian GRU wanted Trump to be President, not Hillary.

I wouldn't call it hatred. It's more a lack of any apparent competency. You might have noticed that the economy has done well under Trump but limped along under Obama.

Donald brings business acumen to the job ... and the ability to think 'outside the box' to implement solutions which had evaded politicos for years.
Now, if the master goes to prison, no more scraps for the puppies...
One suspects that if they could "lock him up", they would have already. Keep trying though. I'm sure it must be converting potential voters to vote for the Democrat cause, amiright?

As I said before, the House has every power and right to issue articles of impeachment no matter the certitude or lack there of the information presented by Mueller.

I noticed that Obama took over in the midst of a financial meltdown.

You may want to revisit that again. The Free Beacon denies the connection to Steele. It was only after the DNC and HRC campaigns entered into agreement with the Free Beacon that Steele was hired...to work with his Russian contacts.

Once more, for good measure: Conservatives didn't fund the Steele dossier
Right. The Free Beacon had no direct connection to Steele. They hired Fusion GPS to do opposition research but then dropped the project. The DNC also hired Fusion GPS and also dropped the project before the dossier was complete. The assertion that Fusion GPS did no research for Free Beacon and didn't actually start until after being hired by the DNC is less well supported. But in any case, the path the document took did not pass through the DNC.

The existence of the Trump dossier seems to turn this around. Apparently, the compromising information the Russian agents gave to Steele was political party opposition research. It's hard evidence one party tried to use information from foreign sources to sway the election. At the very least, it seems the Trump dossier was a way for some Russian officials offering HRC an olive branch that not all Russians are Vlad.

So given the environment in 2016, we could surmise the Russians were playing each side against each other. A masterful use of political maskirovka. Why handle your enemies directly when they can 'kill' themselves off.

And it worked perfectly. Our government and society is as divided as ever.

You're being pretty hard on the GOP there... there were plenty of competent alternatives, but they didn't rally the masses the way that Donald did... and what was Donald's gimmick?

You might have noticed that the economy has done well under Trump but limped along under Obama.

Actually I noticed that Obama took us out of the 2008 recession in his first term and lowered the deficit by 11% during his second term.

Donald inherited a booming economy and increased the deficit by 15% in his first 2 1/2 years...

...but I'm sure you remember things differently for a reason.

Donald brings business acumen to the job ... and the ability to think 'outside the box' to implement solutions which had evaded politicos for years.

Did you actually study the man's business history before echoing his sales pitch? The only thing Donald has ever successfully marketed has been his own name.
