  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sessions also wouldn't have had to recuse himself had he not lied under oath about his contacts with Russia.
No, he still would have had to recuse himself from any investigation of the Trump campaign of 2016 since he was a part of the campaign - it doesn't do to be investigating yourself.

I wouldn't call it hatred.
I would. Of course, they gaslight and accuse the Democrats of hatred:

The Democrats have become the party that:

  • Hates the American Flag and praises Antifa
  • Prioritizes illegal immigrants, at the expense of American people
  • Hates Israel and promotes terrorism
  • Chooses BIG GOVERNMENT socialism over American prosperity
  • And would rather see America Fail, than my father succeed
Their dangerous agenda would be a DISASTER for America if they were ever given the power to implement it. It’s up to YOU to make sure that doesn’t happen.

This is from a fundraising email, supposedly from Donald Junior.

Do you want to discuss the accuracy of those claims?

Those claims are hate-mongering propaganda designed to get the gullible to part with their pennies.

Don't forget the DOJ Inspector General investigation into the Carter Page FISA stuff. Barr promised us that in May or June, but here it is July. I wonder what the delay was?

"One of the two sources said Horowitz’s investigators appear to have found Steele’s information sufficiently credible to have to extend the investigation. Its completion date is now unclear."

Word on the street is that it will be released December 9.

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog is expected to find in a forthcoming report that political bias did not taint top officials running the FBI investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016, while at the same time criticizing the bureau for systemic failures in its handling of surveillance applications, according to two U.S. officials.

The much-anticipated report due out Dec. 9 from Inspector General Michael Horowitz will allege that a low-level FBI lawyer inappropriately altered a document that was used during the process to renew a controversial warrant for electronic surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser, the officials said. The inspector general referred that finding to U.S. Attorney John Durham, and the lawyer involved is being investigated criminally for possibly making a false statement, they said.

But Horowitz will conclude that the application still had a proper legal and factual basis, and, more broadly, that FBI officials did not act improperly in opening the Russia investigation, according to the officials, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive report.

... and what do we know about Mifsud?

According to the two officials, Horowitz is expected to conclude that the opening of Crossfire Hurricane was legally and factually justified. His report will not provide fodder for several conservative conspiracy theories surrounding the case — particularly the notion that Papadopoulos was set up as part of a nefarious Western intelligence operation.

Other reporting has been more explicit that Misfud was never an FBI asset.

Joseph Mifsud, a Kremlin-connected professor who told a Trump campaign official in 2016 that Russia had dirt on Hillary Clinton, was never an FBI informant, Horowitz will reportedly also conclude, smacking down another conspiracy theory perpetuated in right-wing circles.

Looks like the IG and Durham are on the same page here.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s office contacted U.S. Attorney John Durham, the prosecutor Barr personally tapped to lead a separate review of the 2016 probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, the people said. The inspector general also contacted several U.S. intelligence agencies.

Among Horowitz’s questions: whether a Maltese professor who interacted with a Trump campaign adviser was actually a U.S. intelligence asset deployed to ensnare the campaign, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the inspector general’s findings have not been made public.

But the intelligence agencies said the professor was not among their assets, the people said. And Durham informed Horowitz’s office that his investigation had not produced any evidence that might contradict the inspector general’s findings on that point.

But just wait until NEXT Wednesday!
