  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Praise the Lord when things are good and Praise Him the more when they are not. I have experienced that in the past that when things looked the worst and I did not give up, but pressed in by praising the Lord that He would show me things in His Word. The things that I had need of came and the Word encouraged me. People that I needed were there for me and I got through. I am facing a situation which I do not like to have to go through. My son has a Learning Disability. I have to go to the school December 1, 2005 at 10:15 am and see if they will help him. I won't go into all of it, but they don't really seem to want to help him. God has put a good helper in my way, but please be in prayer for my Joshua. He is a good boy and loves the Lord. Life has not been easy for him, but he remains sunny and upbeat. He appreciates what is provided and doesn't ask for much. I thank God for him everyday. He is truly a blessing; helps out at Childrens Church without being asked. So, I know that God is on his side and thank God for the good outcome for Joshua by faith in Jesus name. Thanks for agreeing with me in prayer all. :groupray:

Please PM me with that pumpkin cheesecake pie recipe if you can AND the blessed cookie bars. Glad to hear you are doing well Meek1. I pray you get some sabbatical time! Bless you sister.

Yes, and add to all of that 2 eggnog pies last night...then tonight and tomorrow turkey with all the fixins! Whew...I'm just in my glory...I love to bake and cook when I have the time!

Pumpkin Cheesecake - ready graham pie crust or make pie crust in a spring form, 2 cream cheeses (soft), 2 eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, mix with mixer for a while, then take half of mixture and put in crust, take 1/2 can of pumpkin pie mix (large can) and mix that into remaining mixture, put that on top of the white mixture, put in 375 oven for 40 minutes, let cool. Top with cool whip, and it is amazingly good.

Blessed Cookie Bars - 2 cups graham cracker crumbs mixed with 1 stick melted butter, put in square pan, cover evenly with 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup nuts, 1 cup coconut, and then drizzle 1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over every thing, then put 1/2 cup coconut over that, bake in 350 oven for about 30 minutes, let cool and cut...yummy :yum:

I will get some time off, and I am so thankful for it, I pray you all have a very peaceful Thanksgiving that only the Lord can give. Thank you all for being here and fellowshipping with each other. It is so important that we hold each other up in His name.

Good morning, Matt! You are most welcome! Oh, I don't take anything for granted. The Lord has been wonderful to me and my family, and if He wasn't, He would still be God. Thanks for the reminder though! Keeps us on our toes, doesn't it.

You can pray for a friend of mine (whom i consider a sister). She has a cutting problem and it rips me to shreds knowing that she does this to relieve stress instead of turning to God.
A lot of young women do this kind of thing, and although it is extremely disturbing, it happens to the most normal of women. It is a silent cry for help, and they should be helped by the people around them. It is a way of relieving their pain that they feel inside. It should be addressed by her loved ones. Please, if you know her parents, I suggest you talk to them about this, don't feel you are betraying her, just remember you are letting the ones who can do something about it in on something that has been hurting her and they can ultimately help her.

Dear Father,

We thank You for the opportunities that are given to us to pray for others around us. We thank You that You have given life to Anthony's friend, and we ask that You please help her to know how precious that life truly is. We ask that You guide her to come to know You through Anthony or however Your will allows. Lord, this young lady has been cutting herself, as You already know, and we come to You in supplication that You would help her to find out what the underlying cause of the problem truly is. Father, please bring loving and professional people into her life so they can help her figure her life out, and no longer feel the need to mame the beautiful vessel You have given her. Father, please help her and protect her. In this we ask in Jesus mighty name, Amen

We lift up AnthonyE1778's friend to You..

We ask that You make Your Holy Spirit known to her.. that she is drawn to Your Goodness Lord.. to Your Healing Touch.. Show AnthonyE1778 a way that he will be able to witness to her.. let her see You in him..

Let his friend find peace in You, my God.. peace that exceeds all understanding..

We gather today, Lord of abundant life, as grateful children. Delighted and humbled by our bounty, we celebrate gifts of food and shelter, of colors that dance at dawn and dusk; we relish the scent of cooking foods, of burning leaves and summer's wet grass, of snowflake, of animal fur. We marvel at the intricacy of spiders' webs and fish bones, newborn babies and lines etched on faces of grandparents come for a visit today. All gifts from Your hand. When our meal is completed, leftovers stashed, and naps taken, we will leave replete, energized, and eager to go generously into the world and share our good fortune.
AMEN

Psalms 50:14:
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Jeremiah 30:19:
And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

John 2:9:
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Happy Thanksgiving All!!!

Father I lift up Anthony and his friend along with the others here. Minister to each and guide Anthony as he ministers your love to her. Protect her from all that is not of You from her and grant her the strength to reach for You and cling to You, in the name of Your only begotten Son, amen.

I have a serious problem here, other people do not seem to understand the same thing by deeper fellowship as I do ???

Surely Jesus had fellowship by discussing the truth from the sciptures on holy sabbath and equally in open forum with all kinds of men , most of whom were unbelievers

How has this changed?

Jesus reproved the tradition of the pharisees and yet people effectively outlaw reproof of the tradition of men under fellowship ... I just don't get it ....

Lord thank you for the blessed day yesterday with Family as we sat down to bless thanksgivings. Thank you for the food provided by you to nourish our bodies. We are blessed to have the fellowship of family and friends. May we continue to celebrate you and support those who are not as fortunate this Holiday season. As we move to the time that we celebrate Christ's birth may we remember what the season is all about. Lord forgive those who forget and Help us bring those who don't know your Son to him so that they too can celebrate the true spirit of the Season.

In Jesus Name we pray

Amen.

Well I did explain ... and you highlight the problem by not realising that weare a bunch of sinners and have no basis to exclude anyone ... also that Jesus promised all truth to those who truly followed him [John 16:13] and ver few seem to realise that the fact that we don't have all trut of God indicates equally that we don't have the baptism of the spirit required for entering the kingdom...

Thus it is a sort of 'madness' to exclude discussion of the truth of God from fellowship since this is one way we might co-operatively and collectively acquire a little more by allowing reproof of our ideas to scripture when we find any disagreement [indicating that one or more does not have the one truth of God if we disagree]

Good Morning, Stranger..

I believe.. and she can confirm for you, that when MeekOne originated this thread that she was looking for an area of Deeper Fellowship in Edification and Exhortation of the members.. not as an area to discuss & debate Spiritual Issues.. there are many other threads that do that..

Respectfully, your sister in Christ...
