Studies have shown that most people who play games like D&D prefer evil characters.Well, why not? The best system would be based on the morality of their deeds which, if you believe in an afterlife, wouldn't stop after death - ergo, a revolving door.
Normally, I would not have done that; and I even hesitated to do so, since I choose to believe the Lady Hope story.Whoa!!! Did I just witness someone lump Darwin in with Hitler????
Wow.
Leave them be. I'm a big boy, mockery doesn't bother me.People will have the same gifts, talents and abilities in Heaven that they had here on Earth. Only there of course they will honor God. Not mock Him like some people do here on earth. If someone were to mock you, what do you think we should do with them?
If the alternative is leaving them outside to suffer for all eternity, then unequivocally yes!Should we prepare your best guest room for them and move them into your house?
Source?Studies have shown that most people who play games like D&D prefer evil characters.
I disagree. If you didn't believe in Heaven or Hell, would you be out raping and killing? Would you undergo a massive national project to exterminate the Jews (or another ethnic or religious group of your choice)?Under your system, most people here on earth would be Hitlers, then simply repent after dying and going to Hell.
No more so than one where one's mortal religious beliefs determine whether you get eternal paradise or eternal suffering. You'd think it'd be based on whether people deserve it...You have a strange concept of an afterlife.
I would be inclined to believe you are being sincere with your line of questioning, but for one thing: the Catholics have their doctrine of Purgatory, which doesn't seem to faze you.Leave them be. I'm a big boy, mockery doesn't bother me.

Sorry, WC, I think your line of questioning is as fake as your avatar right now.Source?

I'm guessing not. I'm guessing you, like most people, decide against rape and murder because you simply don't want not, and not because of the threat of Hell.

What makes you think it doesn't faze me? It's not come up in the conversation yet, and unless you're a secret Catholic, I don't see the relevance.I would be inclined to believe you are being sincere with your line of questioning, but for one thing: the Catholics have their doctrine of Purgatory, which doesn't seem to faze you.
I'm at a loss how you came to that conclusion. Are you saying I'm in cahoots with Catholics and that's why they're not putting me in my place? Thus I think you're just here to ridicule those of us who believe in Heaven-or-Hell period, else the Catholics would put you in your place.

On the contrary, it serves a point: most people don't rape and murder and this is not because of the threat of Hell. So, if the afterlife were instead how I described it, there would be little change to people's behaviour, contrary to your claim.Sorry, WC, I think your line of questioning is as fake as your avatar right now.

Ya -- your point. On the contrary, it serves a point:
Ask a Catholic ... they'll have a reason to laugh at you.No, but shall we torture them eternally instead?
Strange then that people in academia have so many different religious beliefs.1. So this religion's houses of worship are called... Higher Academia.
Strange then that so many are members of other religious beliefs, and that the vast majority of degrees have nothing to do with religion or atheism.2. Its clergy are called... Doctors of Philosophy.
Strange that so few deal with religion in any form, or with atheism.3. Its holy texts are called... Peer-reviewed Articles.
Who is that? The Lord of lies from the Diablo video game series?4. It was founded by a person called... Belial.
6. In the year... 4003 BC.
I know one evangelist who says PhD stands for "piled high devils."
Does this answer your post?
Strange that you're not offering any better answers.Strange then that people in academia have so many different religious beliefs.

The questions were addressed to those here who view atheism as a religion. I do not.Strange that you're not offering any better answers.
Yeah... what's up with that... almost as if this was a Discussion Forum.....What isn't strange is you piping up against one who dared answer; something I've come to expect from you guys.
Yes. The answer is: atheism is not a religion. If you think you can provide better answers, please feel free to do so.
What??Otherwise ...![]()
Well, yesYa -- your point.
. It sounds like you're objecting... but you seem to be agreeing. Ho hum.Hitler being possessed did less damage.Whoa!!! Did I just witness someone lump Darwin in with Hitler????
Wow.
That's news to me. Where do you get this stuff? No one is stripping anyone of anything. More like we go there naked and get nice clothes.I thought God stripped you of your free will when you get into Heaven?
Yes. You can chose. Of course with a clean heart and having learned the love and ways of God, you won't want to be a Manson type killer...relax.Why not? And does that mean we do, or we do not, have free will in Heaven? In heaven, can I choose between harp-playing and cloud-bouncing, or is the choice made for me?
Hitler being possessed did less damage.
