  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Problem is that many who took that stance ended up dying from a preventable medical condition!

Yes, the covid-19 pandemic and those anti-vaxxers who tried to claim Psalms 91, which was a promise to Israel during the Tribulation, as also a promise for them, will fall into this category.

This is another example of people misapplying 2 Corinthians 1:20, out of its context.

If you really do understand, then you are intentional.

Actually its simple, its very obvious that 2 Corinthians 1:20, commonsensically, cannot mean that Paul is telling us that we can claim EVERY promise God has ever made in the Bible to others, for ourselves.

You know it and I know it, but I can understand why you don't want to say it out.

Let's get back to the topic of the OP,...

How do you deal with Cessationists?

How do you approach Christians who disregard all modern miracle accounts as hearsay unless hard indisputable evidence is provided, in the form of peer-reviewed publications in medical journals, undeniable footage of a miracle, etc.?

Do you just share your testimony and hope for the best?

Do you engage in scriptural debates and go over controversial passages that Cessationists typically cite to make their case?
