sounds good
I wish I could do it... My daughter, Me, and to other ladies I know would make four and that is still expensive but may be if I get all the details I can ask for a birthday present. I'd have to have all the details worked out ahead of time though before asking hubby. He wants all the hows answered.

Tish, Bananna, et al,

I'm sitting here in NY practically drooling at the prospect of what you gals (& guys?) will be doing out there. It seems they're all around us here, but nothing close enough or affordable enough for us. :sigh: :(

I hope you'll all come back with some great chorography to share, maybe even a video? I know it will be great fun for all of you! Enjoy!!!

Psalm 23 music by Ted pierce Choreographed by Anna Blackwell and Mandy Laporte

This is complicated to write down. I hope I can communicate it because we worked for two hours to get this down and there is a couple fillers I can't quite remember, when he changes up the words or cuts the refrain short.

A (CC)
R-foot step, L-Together R-step
L-step R-together L-step
R-step (pivoting on left to face center) balance
(pivot on right) Step back with left r-together L-step ( in cc turn to face clockwise)
Three step cw turn as circle moves cc.
Coupe right pivoting step backward on to left then right point r-heel (to face cc in circle with left hand behind back right hand palm up lifts as music has slight pause)
(repeat A)

B
(facing cc )
Yemenite right r-step to right left together right-step back a little forward left foot together
( Left Yemenite) L-step left r-together left step right a little forward and left together
(repeats)
(R-Yemenite)r-step to right left together r-step back a little forward left foot together
L-Yemenite with end facing out of circle L-step left r-together left step right a little forward and left together (taking last two steps to face out of circle quarter turn cw)
Tcherkessia out of circle and back.
R-Yemenite r-step L-together r-step back to left pivot cw to face cw in circle. L-step right together 3X (lifting up hands in 5oclock then 3 o’clock then 2 o’clock in front of you as you move these last three step-together.

Filler one
There is a three step cw turn hands up in praise.

Part A
part B

Second filler will give you only enough time to go from Left together left together
R-step pivot cc facing cc step right forward Point right heel and leading into Part A.

you have to fiddle with the rest of it because what ever part fits the music and words we just fill in the rest and I can’t for the life of me remember the rest of the orders.

greetings Bananna;

I went to that thread you posted a link to and read many of the posts in it. I have been doing davidic dancing for 20 years at the church I know and also round dancing in praise to God. Everyone joins in in doing the mahkole at my church. Mahkole is the hebrew word for round dancing or social dancing that is found in ps. 149 and 150.
If you examine the two words translated dance that are used to describe how david danced you will find one means to prance like a ram and the other means to whirl around. Both of these methods I have employed in dancing before the Lord with fervor. Whirling around in mid air is really elevating. actually David had an ephod on when he danced which is like a robe. when I was baptised I came out of the baptismal tank with my wet robe on and danced down the aisle whirling around like david and my robe flaired out like his no doubt did, except I was slinging water everywhere . It was fantastic. I had been dancing before the Lord about 6 years when I got baptised the second time correctly in the name of Jesus.

1 Chronicles 15:29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

I noticed several people in that thread you posted a link to claiming to be doing davidic dancing but from the heb. words used to describe David's dancing I can't see how what they do can be called davidic dancing. I'm not saying it's wrong. It isn't I'm just saying I dont think what they are doing is davidic dancing. It's too reserved for that IMO.

2 Samuel 6:21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

Now the word translated play here is this

I find that dancing as david did i.e. whirling and stamping and leaping causes one to laugh and play and make sport, in the spirit as God is there with you to bring unspeakable joy. I believe this is true Davidic dancing. Dancing as David did in the spirit and with the freedom he had causes one to abandon themsleves completely before the Lord.
all this precison dancing and getting the dance step just right is good and has its place but it is not davidic dancing. IMO.

I've been kicked out of rooms I accidently wandered into before. But hey I've been kicked out of 15 or so churches before for dancing before the Lord. (I lived away from home for a while and tried desperately to find a church that would allow davidic dancing to no avail ) WEll told to stop which to me is the same as being kicked out. I heard this phrase several times "brother you gotta tone it down."

blessings

Interesting.
My opinion is that Davidic Dance represents, being humble and of the Spirit. That mean allowing for others needs, but not being restrained by earthly prejudice.

http://www.chabad.org/parshah/article.asp?AID=279711

Dance comes in all forms, it can be leaping and prancing and it can be like Miyriam quick foot work.

David wearing an ephod, girded up or not, is abased before the people to exalt God. this was highly disturbing to Mical. I guess she learned to crave the pomp that exalted herself. She had forgotton the humble shepherd boy she married. :(

there is a place for joyous cavorting before the L-rd and a place for choreographed group movement in corporate rejoicing before HaShem - personally I don't think either have a place *during* Shakrit, Torah or davening services - but I'm usually very alone in that opinion :)

at times of celebration - perhaps after Shabbat dinner and out in the sukkah and Simchat Torah and other gatherings celebrating the appointed times of HaShem, like New Moon, that are not Torah or davening services :) even times of special gathering specifically for that purpose :)

Well since Torah and prayers is separate for us, we don't have dance then.

our service has call to worship
blowing the trumpet
litergy
song and worship and dance
Prayers for children and children's lesson
Prayer for general praise and petitions,
Adullt lesson
litergy-prayers Aaronic blessing closes the service.

:)
Maybe not very Jewish except for the litergy but, then really we are a converted Church of God congregation to begin with. From Sabbath keepers to Moedim keepers to Torah keepers and now (shhhhhh we're teaching from all sorts of Jewish writings including the Greek scriptures. :) )
