Date Ideas

Both my bf and I are fairly new to this area. I have been here for about 2 years, but haven't had much chance to get out much. We are looking around for date ideas that are affordable and fun. Do you guys have any that you do with your SO? We would like to avoid too much isolation as that just invites trouble.

I'm going to assume you're looking for something fun to do for Valentines Day (due completely to the timing of the thread). Our town has a special Valentines event going on downtown - with lots of local businesses opening their doors to participate with free hot beverages and snacks, live music, ice sculpture carving out on the streets, and even romantic carriage rides and roses for a small fee. You could check your local town information and see if they're offering anything like that, or you could look into regional events if there's nothing in your town. That's the only idea I've got. My fiance's and my date nights tend to be pretty boring otherwise (but we still enjoy spending time together).

That's about where ours are too. We are just feeling cooped up seeing as how we have been stuck in the house all winter. The last couple years we have been going to church events to get out but we are between churches now and at a loss for what to do.

I can completely understand that! We are in a similar boat.

When the sports season starts we will be going to games. We like to walk together, cook together. We don't have money to go out for dinner or movies. Hopefully the high schools have reasonable priced plays we can attend.

My wife and I went to the zoo, took walks, rented movies, played Scrabble, and snuggled. Fairly cheap.

We are experimenting with different things now. Tomorrow night we are going to try to work out together. I am trying to get back into the habit of doing so, but he really doesn't do that much. It'll be an experience for sure! I'm hoping the habit will stick... it would be fun to do so together. We are also going to try the young adults group at his landlord's house on Thursday, but I don't think we will attend that one regularly. We will look at the options for small groups at the church we eventually end up at. We also talked about doing library dates every weekend because we both are bookworms.
