The mother of murdered 7-year-old Danielle van Dam fought back tears on Thursday as she described the frantic search for her missing daughter, but was defiant when grilled about her party lifestyle.

Brenda van Dam told of having four alcoholic drinks that night at the bar, playing pool, dancing, and again smoking marijuana outside in her truck before heading home when the bar stopped serving drinks for the night a few minutes before 2 a.m. She answered "Yes" when Judge H. Ronald Domnitz asked if she understood what was meant by a "swinging lifestyle."

Damon van Dam, Danielle's father, told of lying together in the master bedroom with one of Brenda's friends, she on top of the sheets, he underneath, she kissing him while he rubbed her back for "about five minutes" after Brenda and four others arrived home that night, Feb. 1, the night Danielle disappeared. He admitted under questioning that he had not told investigators about those events.

This has been a nation showered with many blessings. Few retain allegiance to God's truth and live only for self and pleasure. In its plenty this nation has forgotten the value of restraint and self-denial as means of overcoming the excesses of vice and immorality as the van Dam case is beginning to reveal.

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York City, with the destruction of the twin towers of the World Trade Center was foretold in prophecy and was related to the nation's general immorality and spiritual shortcomings. This land cries for God's justice, for the sins of mankind are constantly beheld by God.

It is the United States that is to lead the world spiritually, and if it is awakened by the van Dam case and becomes faithful to this mandate, then the United States will not be burdened with the punishment about to fall, and Danielle will not have died in vain.
